Job Summary:

Ad Platforms organization within Disney Entertainment and ESPN Technology is fully responsible for building, enhancing and maintaining the high-performance, distributed, microservice-based Advertising Platform across all of Disney online properties, including Hulu and ESPN+. We build and maintain proprietary technology, ranging from ad serving and ad delivery, campaign management, reporting as well as all the integrations internal and external that come with evolving and maintaining a best-in-class video advertising business.

As a P3X (Senior Software Engineer 2) of our team, you will apply your knowledge and skills to help us deliver scalable, performant, maintainable, and testable software.

Responsibilities:

● Designing, implementing, and testing solutions to various engineering problems in a high-throughput, low-latency microservices environment.

● Enhancing systems’ observability with proper metrics, monitors, and alerts.

● Reading and understanding product user stories and then translating them into actionable tasks for both frontend and backend components.

● Taking ownership of one or more of the team's domain areas.

● Understanding and using automated tools (AI) while adhering to company policy.

● Available for On-Call rotations based on the team’s escalation policy and support schedule.

● Senior engineer who shapes technical direction, scales impact through others and leads across team boundaries.

Basic Qualifications:

● BS or MS in Computer Science / Engineering or relevant work experience.

● 5+ years of software engineering experience.

● Demonstrable analytical / problem-solving skills.

● Great communication, collaboration skills, and a strong teamwork ethic with both technical and non-technical audiences.

● Experience with:

○ SpringBoot or similar web services frameworks.

○ Cloud platforms such as AWS.

○ Modern DevOps tools such as Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.

○ Microservice architectures
