Why this role matters:
Scatec is seeking a highly experienced Senior Category Manager – Wind Turbines to lead the global wind turbine procurement category across our renewable energy portfolio. The role will be responsible for developing and executing Scatec’s wind turbine category strategy, qualifying and managing a competitive global supplier base, leading Turbine Supply and Installation Agreement negotiations, and ensuring alignment between procurement, project execution, and logistics activities for various projects.
This role will act as Scatec’s internal authority on wind turbine supply and contracting, working closely with Legal, Project Development, Construction, and Operations teams, while leading a dedicated team of procurement and logistics managers supporting wind projects globally.
What you’ll be doing:
Category & Supplier Management
- Develop and implement Scatec’s global wind turbine category strategy aligned with company growth plans, project pipeline, and regional market dynamics.
- Lead qualification, evaluation, and ongoing performance management of wind turbine suppliers, ensuring compliance with Scatec’s technical, commercial, ESG, and risk requirements.
- Maintain a robust and competitive supplier base, including managing supplier relationships.
- Monitor market trends, technology developments, pricing, supply capacity, and geopolitical risks impacting wind turbine procurement.
Commercial & Contracting Leadership
- Lead commercial strategy and negotiations for Wind Turbine Supply Agreements, Long-Term Framework Agreements, and project-specific turbine contracts.
- Work closely with Legal, Project Development, and Construction teams to structure contracts that balance risk, cost, bankability, and schedule certainty.
- Ensure contracts are aligned with financing requirements, warranty strategies, and long-term operational considerations.
- Support claims management, contract interpretation, and dispute resolution related to turbine supply when required.
Project & Portfolio Support
- Act as the procurement lead for wind turbine packages across Scatec’s global wind project portfolio, from early development through construction.
- Provide strategic input during project development and bid phases, including budget estimates, supplier selection strategies, and risk assessments.
- Ensure procurement strategies are aligned with project schedules, logistics constraints, and regional execution capabilities.
Team Leadership & Governance
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of procurement and logistics managers dedicated to wind projects across Scatec’s global portfolio.
- Set clear objectives, ensure capability development, and promote best practices across procurement and logistics activities.
- Establish and maintain procurement governance, processes, and reporting related to wind turbine sourcing and logistics.
- Ensure compliance with Scatec’s procurement policies, ethical standards, and ESG commitments.
What you’ll bring:
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related discipline (Bachelor’s degree with extensive relevant experience may be considered).
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or commercial roles within the wind energy sector.
- Proven expertise in wind turbine procurement, supplier qualifications, and large-scale Supply and Installation Agreement negotiations.
- Strong understanding of wind turbine technology, manufacturing, logistics, and lifecycle cost drivers.
- Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional stakeholders (Legal, Projects, Finance, Technical).
- Previous experience leading and developing international teams is highly desirable.
- Experience working across multiple regions and emerging markets is an advantage.
