Req ID:

JR106372 New College Grad - Design Readiness Engineer

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

As a Design Readiness Engineer within Micron’s DRAM Engineering Group, you will help prepare new DRAM designs for successful validation, production readiness, and high-volume manufacturing. This role sits at the intersection of design, validation, product engineering, product architecture, system compatibility, and silicon strategy. You will engage early in the product development lifecycle, help identify risk areas before silicon arrives, support validation planning, and work across teams to debug silicon findings and drive timely resolution.

Team Culture and Growth Opportunity: Our team is focused on continuous learning, inclusive collaboration, and technical skill in groundbreaking memory technology! You do not need to bring every skill on day one. If you have a strong engineering foundation, a collaborative approach, and a desire to learn, this role offers the opportunity to rapidly grow your technical capability while working with experienced engineers across design, validation, and product readiness. While you may not exhibit all characteristics and skills today, we are highly interested in individuals who are motivated to grow technical breadth and depth while contributing to meaningful product outcome. Suppose you are open to learning while being a valued member of a team of best-in-class engineers. In that case, we are determined to help build upon your existing foundation, while rapidly growing your individual and collaborative skills in this exciting and outstanding opportunity.

## Responsibilities

  • Engage with design and product teams ahead of first silicon to support pre-silicon readiness, risk assessment, and DFMEA preparation within Product Engineering.
  • Partner with Component Validation teams to plan validation coverage before silicon arrival and collaboratively debug silicon behavior once devices are available.
  • Drive investigation and resolution of silicon findings in alignment with project landmarks and product readiness expectations.
  • Develop strong multi-functional partnerships with Design, Verification, Product Architecture, System Compatibility Group, Silicon Strategy, and Product Engineering teams.
  • Identify gaps in validation, production coverage, and circuit robustness, then help define solutions that improve product quality and readiness.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement efforts that enable faster learning, stronger execution, and more effective implementation of lessons learned across products.
  • Apply approved AI-enabled tools and methods, where appropriate, to improve engineering workflows such as technical data analysis, validation planning, documentation, knowledge collection, issue triage, and multi-functional communication, while maintaining human review, data protection, and responsible use expectations.
  • What You Will Learn and Develop: Deepen your knowledge of DRAM design, operation, validation, and manufacturing readiness. Build capability in schematic review, circuit behavior analysis, and product-level debug. Develop understanding of internal and external signal integrity considerations and how they affect product performance and margin. Give to screens, validation strategies, and testing mitigation techniques that improve product quality and customer readiness. Strengthen your ability to lead technical problem solving across multi-functional teams during new product introduction. Develop practical AI-enabled ways of working by learning how to select the right approved AI tools for engineering tasks, validate AI-assisted outputs, and integrate AI support into daily problem solving without replacing sound engineering judgment.

##

## Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, semiconductor engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Understanding of electronic design concepts, device behavior, validation methods, or product engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience with technical debug, data analysis, problem solving, or new product introduction is preferred.
  • Experience leading technical workstreams or coordinating multi-functional activities is beneficial but not required for all candidates.

##

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate technical topics clearly and collaborate across engineering fields.
  • Curiosity, ownership, and willingness to learn sophisticated product and design interactions.
  • AI proficiency or a willingness to build AI fluency is preferred. This includes using authorized AI resources responsibly to summarize technical information, accelerate analysis, improve documentation quality, and support engineering decisions with accurate human oversight.
