We're looking for an experienced AML/CFT Analytics Manager to lead a highly skilled analytics team and play a critical role in strengthening our financial crime detection and monitoring capabilities.
Mō te tūranga | About the role
As AML/CFT Analytics Manager, you'll lead a team of approximately 13 analytics professionals responsible for the delivery and ongoing enhancement of Westpac's AML/CFT and Sanctions detection, monitoring and reporting capabilities. You'll combine strategic leadership with deep analytical expertise to ensure our monitoring controls remain effective, risk-based and aligned to evolving threats and regulatory expectations.
Working as part of the Financial Crime Intelligence & Insights leadership team, you'll influence key decisions, drive continuous improvement and help shape the future of financial crime analytics across the organisation.
What you'll be doing:
Leading and developing a high-performing team of AML/CFT analytics specialists.
Overseeing transaction monitoring scenarios, detection models and analytical controls.
Driving optimisation, automation and innovation across financial crime analytics.
Providing expert advice on AML/CFT risk, regulatory change, audits and remediation programmes.
Delivering meaningful insights, governance reporting and risk metrics to senior leaders.
Building strong partnerships across Risk, Compliance, Financial Crime Operations, Technology and Data teams.
Ensuring analytical capabilities continue to evolve alongside emerging financial crime threats and regulatory requirements.

We're looking for a strategic and commercially minded people leader who combines strong technical capability with deep financial crime expertise.
You'll ideally bring:
Significant experience in AML/CFT, Financial Crime, Risk Management, Banking or Analytics environments.
Proven leadership experience managing specialist analytical teams and complex programmes of work.
Strong understanding of AML/CFT legislation, regulatory obligations and financial crime risk management.
Expertise in transaction monitoring, model performance and analytical methodologies.
Experience with tools such as SQL, SAS, Snowflake, Python, Power BI or similar platforms.
The ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex insights with confidence.
Additional qualifications such as ACAMS certification and experience supporting regulatory reviews or advanced analytics initiatives will be highly regarded.
