Position Summary

McDonnell Genome Institute (MGI) is looking for a highly motivated administrative professional to join our team. This position serves as a liaison, ensuring the Executive Director receives and delivers clear communication and executes projects, processes, and deliverables accurately and effectively.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Schedules meetings and conference calls for the Executive Director. Monitors, responds to and follows up on various Director and Center communications.
  • Assists in preparing annual strategic plan, including gathering information, updating the report, coordinating meetings and presentations.
  • Prepares recommendation letters and correspondence for collaborators, faculty job searches etc.; monitors and acts upon various communications for the Director, all informed and assisted by AI resources and applications where and when appropriate.
  • Schedules travel for meetings and conferences; oversees travel for visitors (collaborators, faculty and postdoc recruiting, etc.).
  • Provides administrative assistance to Assoc Director of MGI and other Institute faculty members as requested, maintaining their calendars, scheduling conference rooms/zoom meetings/conference calls, CV and NIH Biosketch.
  • Creates requisitions and tracks POs in Workday for purchases submitted for the office of the Executive Director and the Milbrandt laboratory.
  • Plans and/or assists with various aspects of meetings & events hosted by the MGI, including annual picnic, holiday celebration, and the state of the MGI address, and strategic alignment meetings w/ Institute center leaders and with Milbrandt lab events and logistics.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

$65,900.00 - $112,700.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
