About the Opportunity
The Facilities & Maintenance Manager plays a vital role in supporting our production center by managing maintenance expenses, capital improvements, and preventative maintenance programs. This position focuses on optimizing repair/replace decisions for all facilities, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), leveraging partnerships with national and regional vendors. As the subject matter expert in repair and maintenance, you will ensure seamless facility operations and contribute to the scalability of our expanding company.
This is an in-house position that requires regular on-site presence within the production facility to support daily operations, collaborate with plant personnel, and ensure compliance with operational and safety standards.
While the role is primarily plant based, there may be limited opportunities to complete office-related tasks such as paperwork from an approved home office. You're welcome—and encouraged—to be in the office 5 days a week.
The Impact You Will Make
- Facilities Expertise & Support: Serve as the primary point of expertise for repair and maintenance issues escalated by the operations team and service providers
- Financial Oversight: Manage and track capital budgets, repair and maintenance (R&M) spending, and general administrative (G&A) expenses
- Process Improvement: Work with the Facilities Team to standardize and improve departmental processes, tools, systems, and workflows
- Vendor Management: Identify, qualify, select, and develop relationships with national and regional vendors for repairs and scheduled maintenance. Evaluate vendor performance to ensure high-quality, cost-effective service
- Project Coordination: Plan, prioritize, and oversee capital projects, ensuring timely, on-budget completion. Support other departments with project scope and execution for rollouts
- Maintenance Strategy: Lead and optimize preventative maintenance programs for equipment and systems to reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of assets
- Repair/Replace Analytics: Perform analytics on FF&E and building systems to make cost-effective repair/replace decisions
- Work Order Management: Oversee the work order network, providing guidance and ensuring timely completion of maintenance requests
- Landlord & Property Liaison: Act as the field contact for problem resolution with landlords or property managers
- Closure Trend Analysis: Identify and analyze trends in restaurant closures, working with vendors and internal departments to prevent disruptions
- Warranty Management: Ensure compliance with warranties for equipment and services at the restaurant level
- Communicate regularly with the national/regional leadership team, providing updates on projects and maintenance trends
- Manage, track, and evaluate significant R&M expenses
What You Bring to the Table
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive facilities management experience within the restaurant or hospitality industry
- Project Management: Demonstrated success in managing repair and preventative maintenance programs, capital projects, and budgets
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of restaurant building systems and equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and delegate effectively.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently and occasionally up to 100 lbs
- Travel: Frequent travel is required, both by car and plane.
- Ability to work flexible schedules
- Ability to work in varying temperature zones including cold environments for extended periods
New Jersey: $88,500 - $102,000 per year.
