Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Category Senior Manager to lead our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) category. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing category strategies, managing supplier relationships, driving value creation, and ensuring the effective delivery of technology solutions across BP plc.

Key Accountabilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies for ERP, aligning with BP's overall business objectives.
• Conduct in-depth category spend profiling, market intelligence, and product analysis to find opportunities for cost optimisation and value creation.
• Lead complex negotiations with key technology suppliers, employing strong negotiation planning and preparation skills.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, fostering collaboration and ensuring high performance and continuous improvement.
• Apply cost modelling techniques to evaluate proposals and ensure competitive pricing and optimal value for BP.
• Translate complex business needs into clear and actionable business requirements for technology solutions.
• Drive value creation and management throughout the technology lifecycle, from sourcing to implementation and ongoing support.
• Champion Agility core practices and use Agility tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the category.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, demonstrating strong Digital Fluency.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in Category Management, Sourcing, or Procurement
• Extensive experience and knowledge of ERP systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in Category Strategy development and execution.
• Strong intuition for business with the ability to understand and articulate business needs and the impact of technology solutions.
• Exceptional negotiating skills with a track record of successful outcomes.
• Proficiency in Business Requirements Analysis.
• Solid understanding of Cost modelling and Value creation and management principles.
• Excellent Supplier Relationship Management skills.
• Strong analytical skills for Category spend profiling and Product and market intelligence.
• High level of Digital Fluency.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Future Location Notice:  This role will start in Sunbury, London. bp has announced a planned office move to Timber Square, London, with all positions currently advertised in Sunbury, including this one, expected to relocate around Q4 2027-Q1 2028.
