Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Medical Assistant, you will be a vital pillar of our care team, significantly impacting patient well-being through direct support and seamless coordination.Every day, you will actively collaborate on comprehensive screenings, assist with clinical procedures, provide essential health education, and expertly manage administrative tasks, leveraging technology to coordinate care for diverse patient populations. You will ensure patients feel at ease, patiently explaining instructions and addressing their concerns.To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical knowledge, technological fluency, genuine compassion for patient well-being, and an adaptable spirit keen on continuous learning and collaborative teamwork.
- Performs initial assessment of assigned patients by taking accurate vital signs including pain assessment, weight, and pulse oximetry.
- Documents an Outpatient Assessment on every patient on an annual basis.
- Documents each patient's "chief complaint" at the start of each visit.
- Ensures that MD orders are carried out at time of patient check out and complete discharge instructions provided prior to the patients' departure.
- Completes all documentation on the date the service/care was provided to the patient.
- Generates the facility superbill/encounter form only after documentation is complete on the date the service/care was provided.
Job Requirements
Required
- High School Graduate and two (2+) years of experience supporting people living with HIV and/or LGBTQ populations in an outpatient clinic setting.
- Certificate indicating satisfactory completion of training by an accredited and approved institution for Medical Assistants.
- Basic Life Support - CPR
