Summary
Avanade is growing, and we seek motivated and engaged technology people to join our Managed Services team delivering continuous value to our client’s businesses.
We are seeking a Microsoft Technical Specialist who is passionate about helping customers and building strong client relationships. As an experienced infrastructure engineer within our Infrastructure practice, you will bring deep Microsoft technology experience to the design, delivery and support of enterprise-scale on-premises solutions operating in secure and highly regulated environments.
You will work closely with customers through a high-touch managed services partnership model to maintain secure, reliable and supportable platforms.
Core to the role
As a Microsoft Technical Specialist, your focus is on defining, delivering and supporting secure on-premises infrastructure architectures and solutions based on Windows Server and the broader Microsoft technology stack. Your responsibilities include planning, building, deploying, hardening, supporting and testing platforms across our clients’ software, hardware, identity, virtualisation, storage, networking, people and operations.
You will support environments that may be isolated, restricted, disconnected or subject to strict access, change and security controls. You will work across Windows Server, Active Directory Domain Services, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PKI, Hyper-V, failover clustering, file and storage services, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, Windows Server Update Services, PowerShell and related monitoring, backup and recovery technologies.
The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and be able to clearly explain technical issues, risks and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will be familiar with current Australian Government information assurance requirements, including the Information Security Manual, NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0 and Essential Eight Maturity Level Two.
About you
Pivotal to the role is your ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in writing. Your passion for supporting clients and continuously improving the security, resilience and supportability of their on-premises environments is essential.
You are an experienced technologist who is comfortable working with technical, security and operational teams in controlled environments. You have a strong track record of delivering and supporting Microsoft infrastructure solutions and can develop trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and can diagnose complex infrastructure, identity, virtualisation and platform issues. You seek to continually improve client environments through secure configuration, disciplined patching, automation, lifecycle management, technical debt reduction and platform evolution.
You will be an Australian Citizen with at least NV1 security clearance.
