Position Summary
We are looking for an HR Generalist to join our People Team for a 14-month maternity leave coverage. This role will report to the Senior Director, People Team and support various strategic people programs, policies, and talent development of our people while achieving business objectives. Role and Responsibilities
Provide HR guidance, partnership and support to Vancouver R&D leaders and employees
Serve as an initial point of contact for diverse, employee-related inquiries and be able to escalate and prioritize critical matters as needed
Work closely with the Senior Director, People Team in developing and implementing HR strategies, programs, and initiatives that align with business priorities
Support and provide guidance on Canadian immigration requirements, PR support documentation and Work Permit applications
Participate in workplace compliance, employee relations and investigation matters
Provide input and support for learning and development initiatives
Support the People Team with projects, processes and programs that enhance employee engagement and retention
Play a key role in supporting and organizing internal and external events
Manage special projects as assigned in a broad range of areas, as business needs arise
Provide remote support to the Toronto and Montreal AI sites as needed
Contribute and positively impact the ongoing culture; be a key driver of ongoing engagement within the site
Skills and Qualifications
5 years of progressive experience in human resources and at least 3 years of prior experience as an HR Business Partner or Generalist supporting technical teams (preferred)
Bachelor’s degree specializing in Human Resources Management
CPHR designation is an asset
Strong communication, leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with proven skills in communication, relationship-building and influencing best practices
Successful in supporting effective and positive employee relations, retention, and reward programs
Ability to handle strictly confidential information
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
Creative and collaborative; team oriented
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile to support the team
The salary range for this role is expected to be between $80,000 to $100,000 and reflects base salary only. Actual pay will be determined based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, competencies, qualifications, relevant skills and experience.
