Description
The Fund Accounting team is based in our London office and works closely with other support functions across the business. As the number of funds continues to grow, we are looking for a motivated Fund Accountant who is keen to learn, develop and contribute to the team. The successful candidate will support daily P&L, NAV, valuations, reconciliations and reporting, and will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily P&L process, including the attribution of P&L by driver;
- Produce daily, weekly and monthly fund return estimates and attribution;
- Support the full month-end close process, including:
- Adhering to the valuation source hierarchy and overall valuation policy;
- Assisting the administrator in obtaining independent confirmation of external valuations; and
- Reconciling estimated NAV and P&L to final NAV and P&L.
- Monitor daily valuation changes to ensure that movements are consistent with market drivers;
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reports for senior management, summarising P&L attribution, fund performance, key drivers, significant changes and any risks to business continuity;
- Assist with new business initiatives, fund launches, new products and new corporate structures;
- External reporting, including
- Assist with the preparation of annual audited financial statements; and
- Assist with the preparation and review of regulatory reporting, including Form PF and AIFMD reporting;
- Initiate and facilitate process improvements.
General
- Provide day-to-day support to colleagues within the team and across the wider organisation;
- Any other duties commensurate with the post holder’s position and seniority; and
- All employees should understand that it is their personal responsibility to comply with all organisational, statutory and regulatory policies and procedures.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Relevant experience in fund accounting, product control or a related finance role, ideally within asset management or financial services
- Experience of NAV, P&L, reconciliations, valuations or financial reporting;
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications;
- A proactive approach to process improvement; VBA experience would be advantageous;
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Educational & Professional Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or equivalent;
- Strong academic results in subjects relevant to the role; and
- Newly qualified, or close to completing a relevant professional qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
