Restaurant Manager | Marriott Colorado Springs
A great restaurant does not run itself. It runs because someone with real leadership vision, genuine passion for hospitality, and an uncompromising commitment to the guest experience is driving it forward every single shift. Someone who develops the team around them, holds the standard with clarity and respect, manages the numbers without losing sight of the people, and understands that every guest who walks through the door deserves an experience worth coming back for.
We are looking for an experienced, driven, and people-first Restaurant Manager to lead our food and beverage outlet at the Marriott Colorado Springs. If you are a hospitality professional who leads with purpose, builds teams that perform, and takes genuine pride in the dining experience you deliver, we want to hear from you.
About the Role
As Restaurant Manager, you are the leader of our food and beverage outlet operation. You are responsible for the daily performance of the restaurant across all dimensions, guest satisfaction, team development, financial results, service quality, and brand compliance. You will lead a team of servers, food runners, bartenders, and support staff, setting the standard for what great service looks like and holding that standard consistently through coaching, accountability, and genuine investment in the people you lead.
This is a full-service hotel restaurant environment with a diverse guest base, varying volume levels, and multiple revenue streams including dining, bar service, and room service. You will need to be equally comfortable on the floor during a busy service and behind the scenes managing schedules, labor costs, inventory, and guest feedback. Strong operators who can move fluidly between those two modes are the ones who excel here.
This role also carries Manager on Duty responsibilities, meaning there will be shifts where you are the senior leader on property for the entire hotel. That requires sound judgment, calm authority, and the confidence to make decisions and handle situations independently when they arise.
A flexible schedule is required. Hotel restaurant operations run seven days a week and include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The schedule varies based on business needs and the right candidate understands and embraces that.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and managing the daily operations of the restaurant, bar, and room service outlets to deliver a consistently exceptional guest dining experience
- Setting and maintaining the service standard for the restaurant through direct floor presence, real-time coaching, and clear communication of expectations with every team member
- Hiring, onboarding, training, and developing restaurant associates to build a high-performing, guest-focused team that takes pride in the work they do
- Coaching and counseling team members when performance or behavior standards are not met, doing so with fairness, clarity, and genuine investment in improvement
- Building and managing the weekly schedule to ensure proper coverage across all meal periods while maintaining labor costs in line with business forecasts
- Monitoring and managing food and beverage costs, waste, and inventory to meet departmental financial targets
- Overseeing opening and closing procedures for the restaurant, ensuring all side work, setup, and breakdown are completed to standard every shift
- Conducting pre-shift meetings to communicate daily specials, service expectations, guest notes, and any relevant operational updates to the team
- Actively engaging with guests on the floor throughout service to ensure satisfaction, address concerns in real time, and create moments of genuine hospitality
- Resolving guest complaints and service failures promptly and professionally, turning difficult moments into recovery opportunities that reinforce guest loyalty
- Coordinating closely with the culinary team on menu knowledge, service timing, special events, and any operational needs that affect the restaurant floor
- Managing the room service operation to ensure timely, accurate, and professional delivery to all in-room dining guests
- Partnering with the Sales and Catering team on private dining and special event requests that involve the restaurant outlet
- Maintaining compliance with all food safety, alcohol awareness, and health department regulations throughout the operation
- Monitoring and responding to guest satisfaction data including survey results, online reviews, and direct feedback to identify trends and drive continuous improvement
- Completing required reporting, logs, and administrative documentation accurately and on time
- Performing Manager on Duty shifts and responsibilities as assigned, serving as the senior decision-maker on property during those times
- Maintaining energy management practices and ensuring the team adheres to all property policies and Pyramid Global Hospitality and Marriott brand standards
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Food and Beverage or General Manager
What We’re Looking For
- A confident, people-first leader who builds team culture through consistency, accountability, and genuine care for the associates they lead
- A strong floor operator who is equally comfortable managing service during a busy shift and handling the administrative and financial responsibilities of running a restaurant
- Excellent guest service instincts and the ability to read a dining room, anticipate needs, and respond to the unexpected without losing composure
- The ability to coach and hold performance standards with respect and clarity; you give real feedback and you follow through on it
- Strong financial acumen including experience managing labor costs, food and beverage costs, and working toward defined financial targets
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization, from line-level associates to hotel leadership and ownership
- A proactive approach to problem solving; you identify issues before they become guest complaints and you address them without waiting to be asked
- Knowledge of food safety, responsible alcohol service, and health department compliance requirements
- Full schedule flexibility including evenings, weekends, and holidays; the restaurant does not operate on a traditional Monday through Friday schedule and neither does this role
- A genuine passion for hospitality and for building a restaurant experience that guests return to and recommend
What are we looking for?
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of restaurant management or assistant management experience in a full-service hotel, resort, or upscale dining environment is required
- Previous experience managing a team in a high-volume food and beverage operation is strongly preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in hospitality management or a related field is a significant plus
- Alcohol Awareness Certification required; must comply with Colorado state regulations
- Food Handler or Food Manager Certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Strong working knowledge of food and beverage service standards, restaurant operations, and POS systems
- Experience with scheduling, labor management, and financial reporting in a restaurant or hotel food and beverage environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn hotel property management and reporting systems
- Ability to stand and remain active on the floor for extended periods throughout a shift
- Must be 21 years of age or older to meet Colorado alcohol management requirements
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus given the diverse nature of our associate and guest population
Physical Requirements
This is an active, on-your-feet leadership role. You should be comfortable standing and moving throughout the restaurant, bar, and public areas for the duration of your shift, engaging with guests and team members on the floor, and moving quickly when service demands it. This role also requires the ability to lift and carry items as needed in the course of normal restaurant operations.
Who Thrives Here
The Restaurant Managers who truly excel in this role are the ones who lead from the floor and from the front. They do not manage from the office during service. They are present, visible, and engaged with both their team and their guests throughout every shift. They catch the service gap before the guest notices. They have the difficult coaching conversation because they care about the associate’s growth, not just the outcome of that shift. They look at the labor report and the guest satisfaction score with equal seriousness because they understand that both matter and that neither lives in isolation from the other.
They also build teams that are proud of where they work. Associates who feel developed, recognized, and held to a standard they respect are the ones who stay, who grow, and who deliver the kind of service that brings guests back. If building that kind of team and that kind of restaurant experience is what drives you, this is the right role and the right property.
What’s In It for You
At Pyramid Global Hospitality, we believe the leaders who drive our food and beverage experience deserve to feel exceptional about where they work. When you join our team, you gain access to a full range of benefits designed to support your life and your career, including:
