Position Summary
The Mold Setter is responsible for safely installing, removing, adjusting, and maintaining molds and tooling on Injection Molding machines. This role ensures accurate setup, efficient changeovers, and proper machine operation to support quality, safety, and production goals.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, remove, and secure molds, dies, and tooling according to production schedules
• Verify mold alignment, clamping, and functionality before releasing equipment to production
• Troubleshoot basic mold, tooling, and machine issues and escalate when needed
• Work closely with Process Engineers, Maintenance, and Production Supervisors
• Complete required documentation for setups, inspections, and changeovers
• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of mold storage and setup areas
• Assist with preventive maintenance activities related to molds and tooling
• Support continuous improvement activities to reduce downtime and improve quality
Qualifications
• Prior experience in mold setting, machine setup, or mechanical/industrial operations preferred
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, diagrams, and tooling specifications
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift, move, and position molds and tooling safely
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Willingness to work overtime or different shifts as needed
Requirements
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in hot or cold manufacturing environments
• Ability to operate hoists, cranes, and mechanical lifting devices
Schedule:
Schedule would be same as IM Day shift: 7:00am – 7:30pm Mon – Thursday and OT as needed (Potentially Mandatory)
