Job Summary: Responsible for race and event setup and tear down, course and event maintenance.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Hourly:

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Base hourly pay range: $18.00-$32.14 per hour.

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • Must be able and willing to provide all customers and employees with top quality customer service in all situations at all times.

  • Assists in setting courses, shoveling snow, setting fencing, salting courses (each bag weighs approx. 50 lbs.) and timing races.

  • Carries all types of snow fencing, up to 70 lbs.

  • Skis in all snow conditions.   

  • Sets up and tears down start and finish areas for races and events.

  • Set up and tear down fencing and rope closures for races and events.

  • Carries up to 50 lbs. of race equipment to course site.

  • Creates and maintains race course by side-slipping, shoveling, raking and other means.

  • Assists with registration of the participants

  • Assists with set up and tear down of special events, tents, displays, etc.

Competencies and Job Requirements:

Required: 

  • Effective communication skills, oral & written

  • Strong sense of customer service & safety awareness

  • Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Have a neat & clean appearance in compliance with the company grooming standards

  • Punctual, able to report at scheduled start time Work well as part of a team.

  • Expert skier

  • Must be able to work in high stress type situations.

  • Must be well organized, detail oriented

Preferred:

  • Computer and keyboarding skills.

  • Public speaking skills.

  • USSA Officials Certifications

  • Course setting experience

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, hear, and ski. Must be capable of walking or standing 90% or more of a normal 8 hour work shift. Must be capable of frequently carrying, lifting. pushing or pulling up to 25lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions.

Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the work place is usually moderate.

Equipment Used in Job: Timing equipment, gates, two-way radios, shovels, electrical equipment, drills, snowmobile, rope reels

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Education, i.e. High School Diploma or GED

  • Experience working with the public

Preferred

  • Knowledge of ski and/or snowboard racing.

A Motor Vehicle Record review may be required as part of your job.
