Under the direction of the Clinical Manager of MRI, the technologist performs a wide variety of Diagnostic/Interventional procedures in accordance with physician orders. This position requires a high level of technical knowledge, skill and the ability to work in close cooperation with members of a team of physicians, nurses and other technical staff. The technologist participates in research projects, inventory management and staff training. Is involved in the evaluation/instruction of new techniques and equipment. The technologist interacts with patients daily and maintains a safe, respectful and comfortable environment for the patient.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Performs all functions of an MRI Tech II.
2. Monitors workflow at both campuses and adjusts staffing as needed. Coordinate scheduling of add-on patients. Review schedules to identify incorrectly booked studies and identify patients that may need lab work prior to their exam.
3. Provides assistance to technologists on policy and procedure issues. Enforce department policies.
4. Sends images to PACS system, evaluates exam for completeness, and verifies exam in timely manner. Develops a working knowledge of all PACS capabilities
5. Informs Clinical Manager or Supervisor and appropriate service personnel of system problems and documents accurately and completely

Required Qualifications:

1. Associate's degree in Allied Health required. Bachelor's degree in Allied Health preferred.
2. Registration American Registry of Rad Tech required., and Certificate 1 Basic Life Support required.
3. 5-8 years related work experience required.
4. New hires will have 30 days to provide BLS certification. Certification has to be with the American Heart Association (AHA).
5. Minimum of 3 years of MRI experience. ARRT post-primary registration in MRI and a proven record of a superior level of understanding of MRI physics.
6. Proven ability to interact with internal and external customers and problem solving skills for all patient and personnel issues that arise. Possession of exceptional problem solving skills as related to MRI scanning and sequences.
7. Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

7. Team Work: Ability to act as a team leader for small projects or work groups, creating a collaborative and respectful team environment and improving workflows. Results may impact the operations of one or more departments.
8. Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, staff and external customers in a professional, service-oriented, respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem solving. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

Physical Nature of the Job:
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Job is physical in nature and employee needs to stand and/or move around through the majority of their shift.

 

 

Pay Range:

$54.02 - $80.27

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
