DMVA offers comprehensive benefits programs to its classified work force that includes paid holidays, annual leave, sick leave, medical, dental, life, disability plans, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, and public retirement options.  DMVA also strives to assist employees in achieving a healthy work/life balance by offering compressed work weeks, on-site fitness facilities, free parking, and a variety of training opportunities!

This is a remote position within our Division of Veterans Affairs and works to uphold the integrity of the Veterans Affairs grants program by engaging with grant applications, data management, performance tracking, and overall support of the program to provide the best available service on behalf of our Colorado Veterans.  Specific duties are listed below:

  • Grant Reimbursement & Compliance: Independently audits and validates grantee reimbursement requests against budgets and state rules, analyzes spending patterns to propose budget modifications, prepares reports and reviews grant reimbursements processed by the Program Assistant.

  • Training & Compliance Tools: Designs and maintains functional tools for grantees—such as automated reimbursement calculators and reporting templates—to streamline submissions and maintain data accuracy. Facilitates legal tracking of all financial products to the grant for compliance with State and Federal audits and guidelines.
  • ADA Accessibility: Serves as the unit’s technical resource for state ADA accessibility compliance by performing document remediation (tagging, alt-text, reading order) on templates, handbooks, and public materials.
  • Technical & Operational Support: Research and updates internal manuals and the Grantee Handbook to reflect statutory changes, provides training and guidance to grantees, identifies workflow bottlenecks, and proposes process improvements.
  • Other: performing other duties as assigned by the senior Grants Specialist, such as re-evaluating grant programs, reviewing applications, handling communication, proofreading, editing documents, policy and grant requirement interpretations and technical advice, as well as ensuring back-up during periods of absence.
