Position Summary

Mizuho Americas is seeking an experienced Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis to join its FP&A organization. The VP will serve as a key finance partner to business leaders and corporate functions, providing financial insight and analytical support to inform decision-making and strengthen financial performance.

The role will have significant responsibility across financial planning and forecasting, management reporting, expense and workforce analysis, cost allocations, and performance analytics. The successful candidate will combine strong financial and analytical capabilities with experience leveraging AI, data visualization, dashboards, and modern financial technologies to improve the quality, efficiency, and accessibility of financial insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead key components of the annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, partnering with business and functional stakeholders to develop and challenge financial assumptions.
  • Analyze actual and forecast financial performance, identifying key drivers, trends, risks, and opportunities and translating findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Develop high-quality management reporting, dashboards, and executive presentations that provide clear visibility into financial and operational performance.
  • Provide detailed analysis of personnel and non-personnel expenses, including headcount, workforce trends, consulting spend, hiring plans, and other resource considerations.
  • Support cost allocation and profitability analysis, including evaluation of allocation methodologies, drivers, and financial impacts across businesses and entities.
  • Serve as a trusted FP&A partner to business and corporate functions, providing financial guidance and constructively challenging assumptions.
  • Perform financial modeling and scenario analysis to assess business decisions, resource requirements, and changes to the financial outlook.
  • Leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance financial analysis, identify trends and anomalies, streamline recurring processes, and improve the development of management insights.
  • Drive greater adoption of dashboarding and data-visualization capabilities, including tools such as Power BI, to provide intuitive and actionable views of financial performance.
  • Partner across Finance and other functions to improve the accuracy, consistency, transparency, and automation of financial reporting and planning.
  • Contribute to the continued transformation of FP&A through process standardization, automation, enhanced analytics, and adoption of OneStream and related financial tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline; MBA, CPA, CFA, or similar qualification is a plus.
  • 10–15 years of progressive experience in FP&A, business/divisional finance, management reporting, or a related finance discipline.
  • Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, variance analysis, management reporting, and executive presentations.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and the drivers of business and financial performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial information into clear conclusions, compelling visualizations, and actionable recommendations.
  • Experience developing or leveraging management dashboards and business-intelligence tools such as Power BI; familiarity with data visualization and self-service analytics strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience using AI, generative AI, automation, or advanced analytics within Finance to improve analysis, reporting, forecasting, or productivity.
  • Strong business-partnering and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders and constructively challenge assumptions.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities; experience with OneStream, Hyperion, or comparable EPM platforms preferred.
  • Experience within banking, financial services, or another complex, multi-business environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience with expense management, workforce/headcount planning, cost allocations, or profitability analysis highly desirable.

The expected base salary ranges from $115,000 - $180,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, including Medical, Dental and 401K plans, successful candidates are also eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
