Description

Citi is seeking a market risk professional to join the Spread Products In-Business Risk (IBR) team, a Front Office, 1st Line of Defense function responsible for market risk and capital management across Citi's Global Spread Products businesses. In this Vice-President-level role, you will help provide risk coverage of Flow Credit Trading and Agency and Non-Agency Mortgage trading, working at the intersection of risk analytics, capital management, and senior business leadership. This is a high-impact position that directly shapes how risk is identified, measured, and governed across one of Citi's core fixed income businesses. The primary focus of the role is coverage of portfolio risks from Spread Products Trading.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor systemic and idiosyncratic risks across Spread Products Trading, engaging regularly with senior business and risk leadership to ensure material risks are identified and escalated appropriately.
  • Track position-level performance on an ongoing basis, analyze the drivers of market movements across asset classes, and develop forward-looking views on concentration, emerging, and relative value risks.
  • Design and implement consistent, quantitative risk metrics that explain portfolio performance across Spread Products positions under varying market conditions.
  • Partner with quantitative analytics and technology teams to build a comprehensive risk monitoring framework that supports portfolio risk management and efficient capital allocation.
  • Develop a front-to-back understanding of risk across Spread Products Trading, covering all capital attribution dimensions including Stress losses and Value-at-Risk, and strengthen the governance and control environment accordingly.
  • Collaborate with independent risk teams to size and calibrate appropriate risk limits for the business and monitor utilization across portfolios.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 7 or more years of experience in a trading or market risk management role, with a clear focus on managing market risk as a core part of the position.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Flow Credit Trading and/or Agency and Non-Agency Mortgage asset classes.
  • Demonstrated experience managing regulatory interactions and leading or contributing to regulatory workstreams.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative capability, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into clear risk conclusions.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey risk positions and recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Effective relationship management skills, with a collaborative approach to working across trading, risk, technology, and regulatory functions.
  • Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, and intellectually curious about financial markets, market structure, and trading dynamics.
