Description
About the role
This is a high-exposure role at the centre of CHAGEE’s APAC growth story. You will build and run investment models behind new stores, new markets and strategic transactions, and your analysis will go directly to senior leadership. You will work in a lean team where scope grows with capability, and you will cover multiple APAC markets.
What you’ll do
Store expansion and investment analysis
- Build store-level financial models (sales forecasts, capex, P&L, payback, IRR) to evaluate new sites
- Run feasibility assessments using catchment, footfall, competitor and rental benchmarks
- Prepare investment memos for approval committees
- Work with multiple stakeholders to gather data and validate assumptions
- Help improve templates, dashboards and team processes
New market entry
- Build the market entry model for each new market - the foundation for the country's strategy
- Conduct market research on consumer demand, competitive landscape, rental and labour costs, and the regulatory environment to underpin the model’s assumptions
- Support the evaluation of entry models (company-operated, joint venture, franchise or master franchise) by comparing returns, risk, capital requirements and control
- Track post-entry performance against the original market case and refine assumptions for future markets
Portfolio management
- Track opened stores against their investment case and flag underperformers with root-cause analysis
- Evaluate lease renewals, relocations, refurbishments and closures to optimise the existing portfolio
- Support the evaluation and execution of store acquisitions and divestments, including valuation, due diligence and deal documentation
- Maintain market databases covering rents, sales benchmarks and pipeline
What you’ll bring
- A degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Business or a related field
- 2–5 years in investment analysis, real estate, retail or F&B expansion, corporate finance, transaction advisory or consulting
- Strong Excel modelling skills and clear, concise PowerPoint storytelling
- Rigour with numbers: you check your own models before anyone else has to
- The ability to explain a recommendation simply to non-finance stakeholders and to hold your ground when the data supports you
- Comfort running several site evaluations and deadlines in parallel without dropping quality
- A collaborative approach: you share work early, take feedback well and help teammates when the pipeline peaks
Nice to have
- Experience with multi-site retail or F&B expansion, franchising, or M&A
- CFA (any level) or an equivalent qualification
- Working knowledge of one or more APAC markets
- Proficiency in Mandarin, spoken and written, which is useful for working with our China headquarters
Why join us
- Direct exposure to senior leadership and to real investment decisions, not only support work
- Breadth across the full lifecycle: site, market entry, transactions and portfolio
- A regional scope at one of the fastest-growing consumer brands in Asia
