AGENCY OVERVIEW:
Jewish Family and Children's Services (JFCS) has served the San Francisco Bay Area for 175 years. We offer world-class services to support individuals and families across all stages of life, including adoption, mental health, senior care, disability services, financial assistance, Holocaust education, and youth development. Our mission and work are rooted in Jewish values, and we serve people of all faiths and backgrounds.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Marketing and Communications, and in collaboration with Division Directors, the Marketing Manager leads marketing for three of JFCS’ fee-for-service areas: the Center for Children and Youth (CCY) clinical programs, Adoption Connection, and Surrogacy Pathway. This hands-on role makes these brands known and recognizable, and builds trust with clients, potential clients, supporters, and referral sources to drive inquiries and grow the business. The Marketing Manager oversees marketing vendors and digital marketing, and supports outreach to the pediatricians, schools, and therapists who refer families to JFCS.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship. The company does not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Salary Range: $110,000 - $120,000 (depending on experience)
- Employment Type: full-time, exempt position with benefits
- Employer 403(b) retirement match plus additional employer contribution (subject to eligibility)
- Cafeteria benefits plan that lets you customize coverage to fit your needs, with options like health insurance, FSAs, retirement plans, and wellness programs
- 16 holidays (10 federal and up to 6 Jewish holidays), annually
- 3 weeks of vacation and 2 weeks of sick leave, annually
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with the Director of Marketing and Communications and division leadership to define what CCY and Family Building Services stand for, and shape brand strategy, positioning, and messaging
- Drive inquiries for CCY clinical services through integrated campaigns across paid, digital, content, and community channels
- Drive inquiries for Adoption Connection and Surrogacy Pathway from both sides of each program: waiting families and intended parents, and birth parents and surrogates
- Build awareness of and trust in CCY and Family Building Services among clients, potential clients, supporters, and referral sources
- Direct agency partners across paid search, paid social, SEO, and programmatic advertising; set goals, hold partners accountable for results, and shift budget toward what works
- Oversee digital marketing, including websites, email, social media, and sponsored placements with parent and community publications
- Lead content and storytelling in the JFCS voice, including short-form video planned with designers, freelancers, and clinical experts
- Measure how well marketing and business goals are being met, tracking inquiries by source through to new clients with intake teams; report results monthly and take corrective action when results fall short
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, business, or a related field
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience in marketing, including digital marketing tied to client or customer acquisition goals
- Experience working in a nonprofit organization, healthcare, social services, community-based programs, or other related settings preferred
- Demonstrated track record defining what a brand stands for and strengthening its identity, with examples that show results; proven ability to measure how well marketing and business goals are met, and to take corrective action when they aren’t
- Experience managing paid media budgets and agency relationships
- Strong, clear, compelling writing, storytelling, and editing for a variety of audiences
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Calendar, OneDrive, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive)
