Distribution Clerk

The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a Distribution Clerk to be responsible for ensuring that all shipping and receiving documents and functions are completed accurately and on time. Communicates with customers as required and, with the Transportation Department, develops inbound and outbound freight schedules.

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 10: 00 am-6:30 pm.

What we’re looking for: 

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: 1-2 years of experience required.
• Experience with shipping and receiving operations is also necessary.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.

 

Additional Qualifications:

• Requires good judgment and decision-making ability.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
• Basic math skills required.
• Ability to operate a forklift, crane, and truck as needed.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with proficiency in Word and Excel.

 

How you will thrive and create an impact: 

• Work with the Warehouse or Transportation Manager to schedule inbound and outbound freight to meet warehouse operations and capacity needs.
• Ensures proper labels and tickets have been applied before shipping.
• Maintains good security habits at dock doors.
• Assists with loading and unloading trucks as needed; operates a forklift, crane, and truck as needed.
• Complies with OSHA and other appropriate standards.
• Ensures the accuracy of all receiving and shipping documents.
• Gathers and maintains all data and records related to shipping and receiving activities.
• Enters data into systems.
• Ensures receiving counts match packing lists and purchase orders, and shipping counts match picking documents.
• Assists in resolving any discrepancies.
• Collects all inbound freight documentation and routes it to the proper record-keeping unit.
• Directs and oversees the pallet control and exchange program.
• Participate in cycle counts and help maintain inventory accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$35,500.00 - $56,925.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
