Description
At P.F. Chang’s, we take PRIDE in creating a heart-filled, guest-led Pan-Asian dining experience while delivering meaningful value for our guests, Team Members, and shareholders. Our vision is to be the most admired Pan-Asian restaurant company in the world.
We are seeking an experienced Director of Benefits to lead the strategy and day-to-day operation of P.F. Chang’s health, welfare, wellbeing, leave and related benefit programs. This role shapes a competitive, financially responsible benefits offering and helps make it easier for Team Members to understand and use their benefits.
You’ll lead annual planning, renewals and Open Enrollment; guide vendor relationships and compliance; and partner across HR, Payroll, Finance, Legal and HRIS to deliver accurate, effective programs for a multi-state, multi-unit workforce.
What You’ll Do
- Set the strategy and design for health, welfare, wellbeing, leave and related benefit programs, aligning them with business priorities and workforce needs.
- Use market data, cost and utilization trends, financial modeling and Team Member feedback to develop recommendations for HR and executive leaders.
- Lead annual renewals, plan design, budgeting, implementation and Open Enrollment in partnership with brokers, carriers and internal teams.
- Oversee benefits administration, including eligibility, enrollment, life events, COBRA coordination and leave-related benefit processes.
- Monitor applicable benefit and leave requirements and oversee required administration, reporting, notices, documentation and controls.
- Establish policies, procedures, audits and controls that support accurate, consistent and compliant administration.
- Manage broker and vendor relationships, service expectations, performance reviews, renewals, escalations and opportunities to improve value.
- Track program performance, including participation, utilization, cost, vendor service, operational accuracy and Team Member experience; turn findings into practical recommendations.
- Partner with HRIS and technology teams on benefits systems, integrations, data flows, testing and self-service improvements.
- Work with Payroll, Finance and Accounting on deductions, funding, reconciliations, invoices and related financial controls.
- Create clear Team Member communications and year-round education that help people understand and use their benefits.
- Advise HR partners, leaders and Team Members on benefits questions, balancing individual needs, plan requirements and business objectives.
- Lead, develop and engage the benefits team by setting expectations, building expertise and supporting professional growth.
- Identify ways to simplify processes, strengthen controls and improve service.
What You’ll Bring
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible benefits or Total Rewards experience, including meaningful leadership responsibility in a complex, multi-state organization.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. employee benefit administration and regulations affecting health and welfare, retirement and leave-related programs.
- Experience leading benefit renewals, annual enrollment, vendor management, plan implementations and complex cross-functional projects.
- Strong financial and analytical skills, including cost modeling, trend analysis, budgeting and advanced Excel.
- Experience with HRIS or benefits administration platforms and integrations with payroll, carriers and third-party vendors.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex benefits topics to different audiences.
- The judgment, organization and attention to detail to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, multi-unit environment.
- The ability to build partnerships and influence outcomes with executives, Finance, Legal, Payroll, HRIS, HR Business Partners, vendors and operational leaders.
Preferred Qualifications
- A benefits or Total Rewards credential, such as CEBS or CBP, or an equivalent certification.
- Experience supporting restaurant, hospitality, retail or another large, multi-unit hourly workforce.
- Experience with Workday Benefits or a comparable enterprise HR or benefits platform.
Work arrangement: This role is expected to work in person in the Global Support Center and is not a remote role.
