The Referral Engagement Specialist (RES) is responsible for processing client referrals, ensuring eligibility for services, and providing detailed information about programs and referral processes. This position plays an essential role in building, strengthening, and sustaining referral relationships by serving as a trusted point of contact for clients, community partners, and stakeholders. Through timely communication, responsive follow-up, and a strong understanding of PCS programs, the RES helps create a smooth and supportive referral experience that connects individuals to the services they need. The Referral Engagement Specialist assists in increasing the visibility and impact of all Potomac Community Services (PCS) programs and works in partnership with the Community Engagement Manager to forge, nurture, and maintain relationships; share our message externally with clients and community stakeholders; identify lessons learned to continually improve PCS programs; and promote awareness and brand image.

Salary: Depends on experience + education

Job Type: 

  • Full-time: 40-hour workweeks

Schedule:

  • 8:00 am – 4:30 pm willing to work Evenings/Weekends as assigned by supervisor

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Hagerstown, MD 21740: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)


Work Location:

  • Hagerstown, MD 21740 / In person / and routinely traveling to other counties or locations within Allegany, Carroll, Frederick and Washington Counties.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred but not required

• May substitute additional experience for education or additional education for experience.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with co-workers.

• Ability to assess needs and concerns while adapting accordingly and reporting pertinent details to direct supervisor.

• Is professional with excellent interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Is willing to work schedule according to the needs of the agency.

• Strives for excellence and is eager to obtain knowledge about the job and community resources.

• Ability to receive constructive feedback.

• Has technical aptitude for utilizing computers, software (Shared Village, Paylocity), phone applications and online resources.

• Possesses a valid driver’s license and auto insurance with dependable means of transportation. Maintaining a safe driving record and self-awareness for safety purposes.

• Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving when prioritizing the weekly schedule.
