Description
Provides support to carry out Export Operations. Updates and maintains current regulations for US/Mexico trade. Assist with the day-to-day classification operations for all domestic and international offices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain part number database classifications for all company customers.
- Assist and audit classification protocols for branch and international offices.
- Classification of new products being imported into Mexico.
- Provide assistance in identifying classification issues and implement appropriate resolution.
- Provide customer support for compliance of applicable restrictions for customs clearance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Training & Experience):
Highschool Diploma or G.E.D preferred but not required
Two-year vocational/technical school certificate from an accredited educational institution in Import/Export or related field. Preferred
Five years’ work experience in a classification position or any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS: Not required. However, if you hold any relevant certifications in warehouse operations, inventory management, or data classification, please submit them as they may be considered in evaluating your qualifications and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of part numbers and part usage and understand applications for use.
- Ability to detect and prevent violations of Mexican customs laws and export regulations for company customers.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as harmonized tariff schedule and explanatory notes.
- Ability to communicate in English and Spanish clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to investigate a variety of administrative problems and make recommendations as to their solutions and to prepare working procedures.
- Ability to analyze and appraise and organize facts and present material clearly and logically in oral or written form.
- Ability to take and follow directions from supervisor.
- Ability to perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to maintain good planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to use computer hardware, various software programs and technologies, including word processing and spreadsheet programs.
- Ability to maintain a good and positive working relationship with all co-workers and other contacts.
- Ability to follow all rules of telephone courtesy in all telephone communications
- Required to comply with all JAMCO’s policies and procedures.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed inside an office working closely with others and alone. Work involves rotating shifts and working extended workdays outside the regular working hours and on-call status; Work requires simple grasping, standing, sitting, climbing stairs and ladders, walking, carrying up to 15 pounds, and light lifting under 24 pounds. Ability to see, write, count, read, identify shade of colors, and hearing is needed to perform essential functions.
