Position Overview: We are seeking Quality Assurance Lead Man with a strong background in quality assurance as it relates to inspecting machined parts and electromechanical subassemblies. The ideal candidate will possess the leadership skills necessary to successfully lead the quality assurance inspection team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate inspection activities across assigned areas of responsibility.
- Ensure timely submission of parts for first article and in-process inspections from the shops to uphold quality standards.
- Facilitate special inspection requirements with stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate, clear, and properly documented discrepant material reports are entered.
- Ensure all discrepant material dispositions are carried out effectively.
- Provide technical guidance to inspection teams and internal customers.
- Collaborate with Machine and Assembly Shop supervisors to resolve scheduling and workflow issues, or to plan for significant orders.
- Lead planning for new part inspections, including CMM program development and coordinating with Quality Engineering to obtain required tooling/equipment.
- Monitor departmental performance metrics to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and support Quality Engineering with larger quality and capital projects.
- Oversee the development of the current inspection team and new team members.
- Assist department manager with annual performance reviews.
Requirements
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
Qualifications:
- PC-DMIS programming experience.
- Strong GD&T knowledge.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to make decisions in a timely manner to keep production moving.
- Excellent computer, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
- Regular exposure to manufacturing areas requiring personal protective equipment
Work Environment:
- Shop environment with regular exposure to manufacturing areas
- Speak and listen to others in person and over the phone
- Use keyboard and read from computer screen and reports
- Predictable and reliable attendance required
- Position requires 40 hours/5 days a week in-person at the Company’s facility
