Job Description
The Assistant Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) is a key member of a dynamic Advancement team who last year raised over $110M in operating, programmatic, capital, and endowment funds. Reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, this position plays a critical role in cultivation and solicitation of The Huntington’s corporate, foundation and government funders. Major responsibilities for this position include managing relationships with key funders, researching and developing grant proposals and reports, tracking and monitoring grants, and messaging the organization’s vision and impact to current and prospective donors.
Essential Duties
Identifies, cultivates, and solicits corporate, foundation, and government funders in order to achieve annual fundraising goals
Prepares, writes, and submits grant proposals, reports, and other programmatic materials
Maintains a detailed calendar of application and reporting deadlines and ensures timely submissions of all materials
Collaborates cross-divisionally with program staff to compile grant project information including outcomes and deliverables, timelines, and metrics for evaluation
Independently manages a portfolio of CFR donors and identifies new prospects to grow this portfolio
Collaborates with Finance department to develop proposal budgets, monitor grant spending, and create financial reports
Stewards members of the Corporate Partners Program and seeks opportunities to engage new and lapsed members
Spearheads efforts to secure corporate sponsorships for exhibitions, events, and programs
Assists in developing strategies for fundraising initiatives and participates in divisional prospect meetings
Prepares exhibition and special initiative prospectuses for presentation to funders
Initiates and sustains relationships with institutional donors through meetings, on-site tours, and events
Researches and identifies prospects with the assistance of a Prospect Research Analyst
Maintains solid working knowledge of key corporate and foundation relationships
Prepares and maintains internal records related to funded grants and monitors progress toward goals
Other Duties
Assists in managing CFR events, including coordinating with corporate volunteers and sponsors as well as administrative duties

QUALIFICATIONS
B.A. Degree (Master’s preferred)
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), donor databases including Raiser’s Edge, and web-based research.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
Outstanding writing skills, with the ability to organize and synthesize complex information succinctly.
Extreme facility with budget management, analysis, and planning Exceptional command of English grammar, proofreading, and editing.
Knowledge of corporate, foundation, and government fundraising strategies and methods for obtaining information about relevant giving programs.
Excellent project management skills, including the ability to establish and monitor priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team, with a track record of collaborating successfully with program staff
Experience
3-5 years of fundraising experience (focus on grants management and proposal writing strongly preferred) with a record of success in generating significant commitments from funders
Experience at a cultural or academic institution preferred
