Shifts: 3rd Shift
Schedule: Monday - Friday, Saturday & Sundays as needed to support operations.
Hours: 8:30 PM – 6:00 AM /end of shift (flex as needed), Additional compensation is provided for the 6th and 7th workdays.
SUMMARY: The Sanitation Supervisor directs and supervises the cleaning of the plant production equipment and facility to meet food safety requirements as required by federal state and local regulations and by DFA to meet customer quality and safety standards. Ensures employees follow Company policies and procedures. Ensures sanitation quality and department efficiencies are maintained at or above standards. Supports the commitment and continual improvement to Food Safety and Quality prog rams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Day-to-day sanitation of equipment and facility.
Training employees, planning assigning, and directing work.
Appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Develops and documents cleaning procedures i.e. SSOP’s, cleaning logs, etc.
Train and document all sanitation workers for the safe operation and disassembly of equipment.
Ensure compliance with all safety rules and standards including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
Ensure food safety and quality control specifications are met.
Ensure compliance with all company GMPs.
Develop, maintain, and comply with Master Sanitation Schedule.
Systematically develop clear and well-defined cleaning procedures for all equipment and facility areas.
Work closely with management and chemical suppliers on chemical and process changes to improve sanitation results and reduce costs.
Protect product during sanitation.
Supervise motivate and train sanitation production workers.
Coordinate all sanitation and some production items for the plant.
Coordinate with R&D and Quality Assurance on all sanitation issues concerning production new products special runs etc.
Coordinate with Maintenance on any set-up machinery pump mill problems are addressed Packaging Processing equipment.
To ensure that quality productivity and Food Safety issues are met.
Works independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred; HACCP certification preferred
Experience: 2+ years of manufacturing experience in the food industry required; food industry sanitation experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Efficiently utilize a personal computer outfitted with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills needed; occasionally required to conduct meeting or lead groups discussions.
Special Skills:
Skilled in adaptable, flexible, yet effective time and scheduling management; occasionally required to conduct meetings or lead group discussions.
Skilled in analytical, critical, inductive, and deductive logic and reasoning.
Able to read and interpret documents such as MSDS, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
Able to write reports.
Able to compute rate, ratio, and percent when preparing cleaning chemicals.
