The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) is a key member of the Executive Committee, partnering with the CEO, Board and business leaders to enable sustainable growth through disciplined risk management.The role provides independent oversight of the Bank’s risk profile while ensuring risk management supports strategic decision-making, innovation and long-term value creation. The CRO will champion a strong risk culture, maintain effective governance and ensure alignment with FirstRand Group standards and the Bank of Ghana’s regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with the business to enable sustainable growth within approved risk appetite.
Lead the Bank’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework across all material risks.
Provide independent oversight of Credit, Operational, Market, Liquidity, Financial Crime and Conduct Risk.
Advise the Executive Committee and Board on strategic and emerging risks.
Build a high-performance risk culture that promotes accountability, resilience and sound decision-making.
Strengthen regulatory relationships and ensure compliance with FirstRand Group and local regulatory standards.
Develop and lead a high-performing risk function that delivers insight, challenge and business value.
