Position Overview

The Advising & Student Success Coordinator in the Gerrish School of Business, reporting to the Assistant Director, Student Advising & Success, supports student academic achievement and engagement through advising, course programming, and administrative coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Student Advising and Support (50%)

  • Provide direct academic advising to students, offering guidance on course selection, degree requirements, and academic policies. (Up to 100 students).
  • Monitor student degree progress, respond to academic alerts, and connect students with campus resources and tutoring.
  • Utilize technology and data to track student progress, identify areas of concern, and develop targeted interventions.
  • Coordinate students with appropriate campus resources for assistance.
  • Develop and maintain advising resources, including Advising Portal website content and training materials.
  • Engage in professional development to maintain knowledge of best practices in academic advising.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with advising and student systems (e.g., Sona, Gull Central, etc.).

Student Success Events & Programming (40%)

  • Support advising initiatives and programs to enhance student success, especially for first-year, transfer, and at-risk students.
  • Coordinate and promote student success events such as Study Slams, GSB Ambassador Programming, Student Workday training, etc.
  • Design, create, and distribute promotional materials for student success events and tutoring opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Endicott partners (e.g., Academic Success) and faculty to create a seamless network of support.
  • Supervise and support student clubs and collaborate with the Assistant Director and Deans on student engagement initiatives.
  • Assists students with academic difficulties and responds to queries about students from faculty and staff.
  • Escalate complex or high-risk student issues to the Assistant Director and Deans
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support operational needs, student success initiatives, and institutional priorities.

Admissions (10%)

  • Support admissions-related activities, including executing key admissions and recruitment events (including Open House, Academic Focus Day, Admitted Students Day, Move-In Day, and Orientation).
  • Coordinate with Deans and Admissions on marketing the school to prospective students and parents, and interface with tour guides.
  • Identify programs and prospective students for targeted admissions outreach
  • Other duties as assigned

Community Engagement

  • Be an active participant in the life of the College by attending and supporting key events like Commencement, Homecoming, and other all-hands-on-deck gatherings. Show a spirit of collaboration and community involvement, including volunteering when possible.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience
  • Experience in academic advising, student success, or counseling preferred
  • Knowledge of learning styles, evidence-based learning strategies, and academic success techniques preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience with Workday preferred, but not required
  • Positive, student-centered attitude with a commitment to providing exceptional service

In compliance with Massachusetts pay transparency law, the annual base salary range for this position is $53,000–$60,000. Endicott College considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, relevant work experience, education, specialized skills, internal equity, and external market data when extending an offer. The final salary is determined by the Human Resources Office based on these factors. This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or other compensation.
