Warehouse Associate
The Arizona Humane Society is seeking a dependable and team-oriented Warehouse Associate to support daily warehouse operations across multiple locations. This position plays an important role in receiving and distributing supplies, maintaining accurate inventory, processing donations, and ensuring our teams have the resources they need to successfully carry out their work. Day in the Life:
As a Warehouse Associate, you will:
- Receive deliveries, sort and store items, and notify the appropriate departments when supplies arrive.
- Receive supplies and unload orders from shipping carriers using a forklift.
- Receive and process donations for thrift and shelter operations and sort and transfer goods to the appropriate campus.
- Pull, prepare, and distribute orders for AHS departments.
- Assist with large-scale incoming and outgoing donations from partner organizations.
- Provide friendly, timely communication with internal and external partners regarding supply requests and transportation needs.
- Perform box truck transportation runs between three campuses while safely operating equipment such as forklifts, liftgates, and pallet jacks.
- Assist other departments with warehouse needs as they arise.
- Ensure warehouse goods are properly rotated and distributed.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse areas.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and workflow efficiency to help prevent loss.
- Work collaboratively with other AHS departments to support organizational efficiency.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Valid driver's license.
- Acceptable driving record and ability to meet AHS requirements to be insured as an AHS driver.
- Ability to pass required pre-employment background and drug screening.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- Ability to calculate inventory usage and estimate costs.
- Ability to learn and use warehouse and organizational software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Zoom, Outlook, and Explorer preferred.
- Ability to learn and use Chameleon software as necessary in a shelter environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Previous warehouse experience.
- Forklift certification.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
This is a hands-on position working in both indoor and outdoor environments, including warehouse, loading, and campus areas. The position may involve exposure to dust, heat, cold, changing temperatures, occasional wet floors, animal noises, odors, and dander, as well as moving equipment and vehicle traffic.
The position requires frequent standing and walking, as well as sitting, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and must be able to hear above the sound of animals.
