The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Business Operations Coordinator, Financial Services [R0153822]
ROLE of the POSITION
The Business Operations Coordinator provides comprehensive operational and business support to the departments within Financial Services, including Purchasing and Contracts, Accounts Payable, Accounting, Banking, Financial Reporting, and Cashiering and Student Accounts. The position contributes to the effective management and continuous improvement of administrative, financial, and operational activities across the unit, supporting strategic planning, budget development and financial analysis, project management, and the implementation of policies, procedures, and process improvements that advance departmental goals. The position coordinates with Financial Services units and campus partners to facilitate effective communication, resolve operational issues, and ensure compliance with university policies and established standards. The role also supports information technology needs, staffing and organizational processes, recruitment activities, and other department-wide operational priorities. Through independent analysis, coordination, and problem-solving, the Business Operations Coordinator serves as a resource to leadership and functional areas, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen operations, and support the Financial Services Office’s overall mission.
The successful candidate will be a highly organized, analytical, and collaborative professional who is comfortable working across multiple functional areas and managing competing priorities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to analyze information, identify operational issues, and recommend appropriate solutions. This position requires someone who can work independently while building effective relationships with leadership, colleagues, and campus partners. Attention to detail, adaptability, initiative, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion are essential to success in this role.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). A degree in the field of business administration, finance, accounting, public administration, management, or a related field is preferred. Two to four years of experience in business operations, financial administration, project coordination, higher education administration, or a related area. Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.
BACKGROUND SCREENNING
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment background screening.
