Description
MORI is seeking a Mission Video Support Technician to provide monitoring and video archival support to the International Space Station and Orion Programs, as well as other NASA mission related and commercial crew programs for the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) at the Johnson Space Center in support of the NASA Enterprise Multimedia and Integrated Technical Services (eMITS) contract. eMITS is an enterprise-level contract providing IT management, multimedia, and communication services for NASA’s Office of the Chief Information Officer and Office of Communications (OCOMM). From photographing rocket launches and recoveries, to producing NASA TV segments, information technology management, eMITS is the primary integrator of services for NASA IT and provides NASA’s communication to the outside world. JOB DESCRIPTION / FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide monitoring and video archival support to the International Space Station program, as well as other NASA mission related and commercial crew programs.
Enter metadata into each video archive using the media asset management system Media file transcoding.
Operate video servers, automation systems, and other television broadcast equipment. File management and data entry.
Provide back-room support for customers with regard to video downlink. playbacks and products requested
Basic video editing, media file transcoding and network delivery to customers
Physical and digital video product delivery to customers
Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND PREVIOUS WORK REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, Radio/Television/Film or related field, or five years’ experience in the television industry.
EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:
Minimum Requirements:
Must be able to accomplish multiple tasks in parallel
Ability to work productively as an individual, as well as with a team
Ability to work a rotating shift schedule that will include weekdays, nights, weekends, and some holidays
Excellent research, organizational, and communication skills (both written and oral)
Must be self-motivated and dependable
Must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of television industry digital formats and equipment
Knowledge of digital and high-definition television signals and distribution
Experience with non-linear editing
Proficiency with detailed work and file management
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
This job requires FT onsite work at Johnson Space Center
