This Grounds and Nursery I position helps care for CSU Pueblo’s outdoor spaces year-round, from lawns, trees, shrubs, and flower beds to walkways and other campus grounds. The work includes mowing and trimming, maintaining irrigation systems, operating grounds equipment, supporting event setup, and helping with snow removal when needed.

What You'll Do

As part of our Facilities Management team, you will:

• Maintain campus lawns and landscapes through mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, and seasonal cleanup.
• Care for trees, shrubs, flower beds, and other plantings through watering, pruning, mulching, and related grounds work.
• Install, maintain, and make repairs to campus irrigation systems.
• Help maintain walkways, roads, and other outdoor areas so they remain clean and safe.
• Operate and care for the tools and equipment used in grounds maintenance.
• Assist with snow removal, campus event setup, and other seasonal needs.
• Work with the Grounds team to keep CSU Pueblo’s outdoor spaces welcoming throughout the year.

The Grounds team’s work is visible all across campus. Well-kept landscapes, clear walkways, and outdoor spaces ready for daily use help make CSU Pueblo a place where students, employees, and visitors feel welcome.

What We're Looking For

Minimum Qualifications per the State of Colorado 

One (1) year of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position. 

Salary

$3,698 to $4,803/mo    ($44,376 to $57,636/annually)

Starting salary will be determined in accordance with State of Colorado classified personnel requirements and the candidate's applicable qualifications and experience. Hires are typically made at the starting salary should steps not apply. Due to budget constraints, we have a constricted wage range for this position.  We are only able to accept applications from persons with 25 years of service or less in the Grounds and Nursery series. Individuals with related experience outside of the Custodian series are also encouraged to apply.
