Description

Senior Custom Closet Designer - In-Home Sales

Qualified Appointments. Strong Support. Uncapped Earning Potential. Top Designers Earn $200K+

You already know how to design beautiful custom spaces.

What you're looking for now is a better platform to do your best work: qualified appointments, strong operational support, room to use your judgment, and compensation that rewards what you produce.

At Inspired Closets Chicago, you will meet with homeowners who are actively considering custom storage solutions, understand how they live, create spaces they are excited to buy, and guide them confidently through the design and sales process.

You will design closets, pantries, home offices, garages, built-ins, and other custom spaces.

You will also have a team behind you that cares about what happens after the sale. Production and installation matter here because a great client experience depends on more than a beautiful design.

If you're an experienced designer who can both design and sell, this may be the opportunity you have been waiting for.

What You Get Here

You will have:

  • Qualified company-generated appointments
  • Uncapped earning potential
  • A realistic path to $100K+ annually after ramp-up
  • The opportunity for consistent high performers to earn $200K+
  • Paid onboarding and product training
  • Design, production, and installation support
  • A respected premium brand
  • Marketing and sales support
  • The ability to increase your income further by developing your own referral relationships
  • Health insurance
  • 401(k)

You will have independence, but you will not be left on an island.

What You Will Own

You will manage the design and sales process from consultation through final design decision.

That includes:

  • Conducting in-home and virtual consultations
  • Understanding the client’s space, lifestyle, priorities, and budget
  • Taking accurate measurements and identifying site conditions
  • Creating thoughtful 2D and 3D custom designs
  • Presenting design recommendations, materials, finishes, and pricing
  • Helping clients make confident buying decisions
  • Asking for the sale
  • Following up consistently with undecided clients
  • Managing your active opportunities and sales pipeline
  • Maintaining accurate project information in the CRM
  • Working closely with production and installation to prevent avoidable issues
  • Protecting the client experience from consultation through installation

You will be expected to create designs that are not only beautiful, but also accurate, buildable, profitable, and ready for a smooth installation.

Qualified Leads Plus the Ability to Build More

Your primary focus will be converting qualified opportunities into satisfied clients.

You will receive company-generated appointments, and you will also be expected to develop business through your own professional and community relationships over time.

That may include relationships with:

  • Interior designers
  • Realtors
  • Builders and remodelers
  • Professional organizers
  • Past clients
  • Referral partners
  • Local community and professional networks

We will support that effort with marketing resources, events, trade-partner introductions, sales materials, and design support.

The stronger your relationships and reputation become, the greater your opportunity to build your own pipeline and increase your income.

Who Does Well Here

You will thrive here if you:

  • build trust quickly
  • listen before you design
  • can turn a client’s ideas into a practical, compelling solution
  • are comfortable discussing budget and investment
  • know how to guide rather than overwhelm
  • can confidently ask for the business
  • follow up because you understand that good clients sometimes need help making a decision
  • care about accuracy and details
  • manage your pipeline without waiting to be reminded
  • want autonomy but also value standards and accountability
  • care about the quality of the installation, not just the signed contract
  • take ownership when something needs attention
  • want your performance to have a direct impact on your income

What We Are Looking For

You have:

  • 3+ years of proven success in custom closets, cabinetry, kitchen and bath, millwork, built-ins, or a related in-home design and sales environment
  • a track record of selling custom or high-consideration solutions
  • experience using design software, with the ability to learn our platform quickly
  • strong measurement and spatial-planning skills
  • the ability to identify obstacles such as outlets, vents, access panels, trim, uneven walls, and other site conditions
  • strong organization and follow-through
  • the ability to manage multiple active projects without losing details
  • clear, professional communication skills
  • a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation

Experience with closet-specific software is helpful, but strong candidates from cabinetry, kitchen and bath, millwork, or related design environments are encouraged to apply.

Training and Support

We respect the experience you bring.

You will also receive paid onboarding in our:

  • Product line
  • Design software
  • Pricing standards
  • Measurement process
  • Sales process
  • Production requirements
  • Installation standards
  • CRM and follow-up systems

Our goal is to help you become productive quickly without asking you to unlearn the strengths that made you successful.

Compensation

This is a performance-driven role with uncapped earning potential.

A designer who completes the ramp-up period and consistently meets performance expectations can reasonably expect to earn $100K+ annually.

Consistent high performers can earn $200K+.

Your earnings will reflect your ability to convert qualified appointments, manage your pipeline, build client trust, and create additional business through your own relationships.

A Better Place to Do Your Best Work

You should not have to choose between strong earning potential and a company that cares about the client experience.

You should not have to choose between independence and support.

And you should not have to create great designs only to hand them into a system you cannot trust.

Inspired Closets Chicago is building a team where experienced designers can do excellent work, earn well, and build a career around the value they create.

If you are already good at this work and want a stronger platform to do more of it, we would like to meet you.

Please submit your resume, portfolio, and a short note telling us about the design and sales work you do best.
