Overview

 

We are currently seeking a Geotechnical Data Specialist to join the Geotechnical Practice, delivering technical and operational excellence as we expand our geotechnical data management and analysis efforts across Canada.

 

We are seeking a technically strong professional with deep Microsoft Azure expertise who can design and deliver secure, scalable cloud-based data solutions. The ideal candidate will complement this core capability with practical data analytics, visualization, and stakeholder-management skills; familiarity with geotechnical data and its engineering context is an asset.

Our geotechnical professionals work closely with other AtkinsRéalis professionals in multiple sectors such as transportation, rail & transit, energy, cities and developments as well as industrial. You will participate on multi-disciplinary teams and projects and will be expected to collaborate on multidisciplinary projects of all scales.

 

Your role

 

• Developing and maintaining geotechnical databases for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Performing data analysis, modeling, and visualization to support engineering designs.
• Utilizing common data-manipulation software tools and programming languages (Python, SQL) for data processing.
• Collaborating closely with engineers, geologists, and project teams to integrate geotechnical insights.
• Providing technical guidance on geotechnical data management, interpretation, and reporting.
• Keeping up with industry trends and innovations in geotechnical data science.

 

About you

 

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Engineering, or a related field with 10+ years of experience delivering enterprise data platforms, cloud-based data solutions, data integration, or related digital initiatives, and substantial experience in Microsoft Azure environments.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate, including the development of business applications, automated workflows, approval processes, notifications, and integrations with Azure, Microsoft 365, and enterprise data sources.
• Proven ability to collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, data architecture, and engineering teams to define requirements, integrate systems, establish governance controls, and deliver secure, maintainable data solutions.
• Practical data analysis and data science capabilities, including dashboard development, data visualization, spatial data modelling, statistical analysis, data-quality assessment, and the preparation of decision-ready insights.
• Strong database-development and automation skills using SQL, Python, or comparable scripting languages.

Additional information

Expected compensation for this role is between $80,700 - $111,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
