Partner with Portable Book of Business (All Practice Areas, NJ / NY)

We are looking for a Partner with a portable book of business and significant experience to join a 115-year-old, full-service New Jersey firm in expansion mode. Our client is growing across all practice areas — real estate is the top priority, but any partner with a meaningful book, the right rates, and no conflicts is someone they want to talk to.

What will you be doing?

• Bringing and growing your portable book of business on a full-service platform with 8 departments and cross-selling opportunities

• Leveraging our client's lower-than-NYC rates to retain price-sensitive clients and win new ones

• Working with 4 full-time marketing professionals to develop and execute your business development plan

• Mentoring and training associates and counsel on your matters to build the next generation

• For real estate partners with 7-figure+ books: stepping into department leadership as the senior partner transitions

Key Requirements

• Portable book of business ($500K+ in originations) — must be your own clients, not institutional or "relationship" credit

• Stable career history — the firm shuts down candidates who jump every 2-3 years

• Clients that clear conflicts (e.g., land use partners representing municipalities are typically on the other side from Greenbaum)

• Rates that work on a New Jersey platform — not pricing that only makes sense at a large NYC firm

• Collegial, collaborative style aligned with Greenbaum's approach to negotiating, billing, and client relationships
