Job Description
The Manager Research & Due Diligence Analyst supports the investment and operational due diligence process for global equities solutions within an OCIO framework. This role is responsible for supporting manager research, ongoing monitoring, reporting, and portfolio implementation activities while developing investment research expertise and manager evaluation capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support quantitative and qualitative analysis of investment managers, including evaluation of performance, portfolio characteristics, risk metrics, and investment process consistency.
- Assist with operational due diligence reviews across business operations, compliance, valuation practices, technology infrastructure, and service providers.
- Support portfolio construction and manager implementation decisions within a multi-asset OCIO framework.
- Maintain ongoing monitoring of approved managers through periodic reviews, event-driven updates, and watch list tracking.
- Prepare manager scorecards, research summaries, due diligence reports, and other supporting materials.
- Participate and lead in manager meetings, conduct follow-up research, and document key findings.
- Collaborate with investment, portfolio management, risk, compliance, operations, and client-facing teams.
- Monitor market developments, economic conditions, and trends affecting covered strategies and managers.
- Support the development of manager research themes, investment recommendations, and special research initiatives through ongoing analysis and data collection.
- Update and analyze manager performance, risk statistics, peer group comparisons, and portfolio characteristics.
- Assist and in some instances lead the preparation of investment and operational due diligence assessments on prospective and approved managers.
- Draft due diligence reports, manager scorecards, research notes, investment memoranda, and materials for investment committee reviews.
- Maintain organized documentation and ensure due diligence records remain current and well documented.
- Support process improvement initiatives and AI-enabled research workflow enhancements.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and continue building expertise across traditional asset classes and manager research disciplines.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in manager research, due diligence, investment analysis, consulting, OCIO, wealth management, institutional investing, or related investment environments.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Progress toward or attainment of a CFA, CAIA, FRM, or other relevant investment designation.
- Experience analyzing traditional asset classes with an emphasis on domestic and international equities.
- Exposure to manager selection, investment research, performance analysis, portfolio analytics, or institutional investment consulting.
- Knowledge of performance attribution, peer analysis, and manager evaluation methodologies.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare research reports, due diligence assessments, investment memoranda, and presentations.
- Ability to synthesize large volumes of information and identify key investment themes and insights.
- Experience collaborating with internal stakeholders and external investment managers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and investment research platforms such as FactSet, Bloomberg, or eVestment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience leveraging AI and automation tools to support research, monitoring, reporting, and data analysis activities.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and investment education.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $92,820.00 - $109,200.00U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
