GFT is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Geotechnical, Dams, and Hydraulics Team in Roseville, California! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance to the Roseville Office.
Joining the water resources team at GFT means contributing to innovative solutions for sustainable water management and infrastructure. What you’ll be challenged to do:
In this role, you will work closely with our technical experts, project teams, and client service managers to advance our technical services and support business development on a wide variety of projects in California. This position is responsible for providing all aspects of engineering for projects for public and municipal utility district clients. In addition to leading a team of engineers and technical professionals, this position will also be actively involved in professional associations and community organizations as GFT continues building.
Clients and projects may be in any location in the Northern California region. Candidate must have the flexibility to travel within the region periodically to help serve GFT’s client base.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Prepare task order proposals, budgets, and client agreements in accordance with state and local agency expectations.
- Lead and oversee design and technical aspects of the team(s) projects including detailed engineering design and calculations, report writing, permitting, and presentations to clients
- Participate in and lead diverse project teams, including internal and external resources, in the condition assessment, risk evaluation, planning, design and construction administration of regional hydropower facilities.
- Coordinate technical input from subject matter experts, including hydraulic structures engineers, geotechnical engineers, seismic risk teams, hydraulics and hydrology teams, and instrumentation and operations staff.
- Support programmatic activities for rehabilitation of assets for water/power clients in diverse geographic areas.
- Write responses to client RFQs and Solicitations
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, public agency officials and community leaders
- Direct and manage the implementation of a project including coordination with project stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and other external and internal parties to achieve project milestones
- Participate in professional associations in Northern California
- Support client marketing and business development activities required to procure project assignments, including development of scope, schedule and budget for proposals.
- Mentor staff and lead development of other PMs
What you will bring to our firm:
- 15 or more years' experience managing design projects from conception to completion.
- Bachelor of Science degree in an appropriate field from an ABET accredited college or university.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California, or the ability to obtain PE or PG license in California within 18 months is preferred.
- Demonstrated strong project management skills.
- Successful record of delivering projects on schedule, budget and meeting the client's Ability to provide oversight and guidance of project management fundamentals.
Compensation:The salary range for this role is $160,000 - $180,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
