Join the Edward L Gaylord "Downtown" YMCA as a Child Development Center Assistant Director and play a vital role in fostering a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This leadership position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of young children while supporting a dynamic team dedicated to community well-being.
Starting at $17.00 per hour
The Child Development Center Assistant Director assists the Center Director in operating the Center in accordance with Center policies and procedures and Oklahoma Department of Human Services Licensing Standards to provide an educational, nurturing, and safe environment for the children, parents, and staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must stay current in CPRPR/AED/O2 and First Aid, renewed annually.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
- Proficient in use of desktop computer and ability to quickly learn software.
- Current driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to perform all of the essential functions for each position in the Center, including, but not limited to teacher, cook, and van/bus driver.
- Ability to provide superior customer service to all external and internal customers.
- Excellent organizational skills required.
- Ability to provide a positive, nurturing environment for children and staff.
- Ability to be flexible in assignment and work hours.
- Ability to supervise and train staff, plan curriculum, maintains the facility and schedule activities.
- Understanding of developmentally appropriate practice in early childhood education and the ability to ensure its use in the classroom.
- Ability to implement Center policies and procedures.
- Position requires a high degree of adaptability.
- Position requires incumbent to engage in multiple tasks and respond quickly and appropriately to frequently changing needs of children, staff, and parents.

Requirements
- Must be certified or willing to get certified in PR/CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma required.
- State specific requirements for position required.
- Prefer Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education or Business, associate's degree, certificate of Mastery.
- Must be at the DHS bronze level or higher.
- Minimum of two years' experience in Early Childhood Development.
