Custodial Assistant I

The&nbsp;<strong>Custodial Assistant I</strong> performs a variety of light custodial work in the care and maintenance of County buildings and facilities. This position performs sweeping, waxing, buffing, mopping and using vacuum cleaners to clean floors; washing walls, woodwork, and fixtures; and policing buildings to empty trash receptacles and picking up debris. The Custodial Assistant I operates a County vehicle to work on and off the complex to maintain off-site facilities and must exercise some independent judgment in completing assigned tasks. The work schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 10:30am - 7:00pm. &nbsp;High School diploma or GED required and at least six months to a year of experience in custodial work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.Must be physically able to operate vacuum cleaners, carpet shampooers, brooms, mops, etc. &nbsp;Must be able to exert up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 40 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
