Responsibilities

EHI is developing API software with the implementation of new strategic service types. These APIs will provide business capabilities that can be consumed by multiple internal and external clients. The new services strategy emphasizes API-first design, microservices architecture, and client-agnostic capabilities that allow for quick and flexible consumption. Engineers on this team will have the opportunity to work on services from the ground up, develop cross-cutting solutions, and interact with a wide range of service domains and clients. If you have a passion for services engineering, technical leadership, and influencing the direction of a new global services strategy, this role is for you.

As an IT Engineer 3, you will serve as a senior technical contributor and lead engineer, partnering closely with architects, product teams, and technical leadership to design, develop, and enhance strategic technology solutions. You will provide technical direction and mentorship to other engineers, helping drive engineering best practices, architectural consistency, and operational excellence across the team. You will be expected to lead complex technical initiatives, influence engineering decisions, and represent the team positively within and outside of your department.

In this role, you will collaborate with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to evaluate, design, and implement scalable APIs, microservices, and enterprise solutions that support critical business capabilities. You will provide design leadership and recommendations for new technologies and solution patterns while ensuring compliance with PII, PCI, security, and governance standards. You will proactively identify technical risks, drive resolution strategies, and champion continuous improvement efforts across the development lifecycle.

As a lead-level engineer, you will be accountable for the successful delivery of highly visible projects, ensuring quality, reliability, scalability, and maintainability of solutions. You will establish and promote engineering standards, review designs and code, and support the growth and development of team members through coaching and technical guidance. You will also contribute to strategic planning activities, influence technical roadmaps, and help shape the future direction of the services platform.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced production environment, effectively manages multiple priorities, and demonstrates strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Responsibilities include analyzing, designing, developing, testing, maintaining, documenting, and implementing standalone and client/server software applications using technologies such as Java, JUnit, Oracle, and modern API and microservices frameworks. Additionally, you will drive innovation, advocate for automation and engineering efficiencies, and ensure adherence to established standards, processes, procedures, and key performance metrics across the platform.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Implement software engineering solutions to meet requirements and architectural direction.
  • Code and successfully perform unit and integration testing of software to ensure proper and efficient execution, as well as compliance to the business and technical requirements
  • Resolve problems that arise with future production applications in a timely manner to ensure the efficient and proper functioning of application components

  • Work with Managers and team members to meet development standards
