This role ensures material availability, supplier reliability, inventory accuracy, and cost-effective supply chain execution to support production schedules and customer delivery commitments.

Working closely with Operations, Production Planning, Engineering, Quality, Program Management, and Finance, the Supply Chain Manager will lead initiatives to mitigate supply chain risks, optimize inventory and working capital, and drive operational improvements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, results-driven leader who can develop a high-performing team, strengthen supplier partnerships, and balance strategic supply chain objectives with daily operational demands.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Under minimal supervision, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible for performing the following duties, including but not limited to:

1. Procurement and Supplier Management

  • Lead purchasing and strategic sourcing activities for materials, components, outside processing, equipment, and services.
  • Manage supplier relationships, pricing negotiations, contracts, and purchasing agreements.
  • Ensure timely execution of purchase orders in alignment with approved material requirements and Production Planning      priorities.
  • Monitor supplier performance, including delivery commitments, quality, responsiveness, and cost, through established scorecards and performance metrics.
  • Develop and implement supplier corrective actions and recovery plans to address delivery, quality, and performance issues.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including single-source dependencies, long-lead materials, and supplier capacity constraints.

2. Inventory Control and Warehouse Operations

  • Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counting, reconciliation, and transaction controls.
  • Lead receiving, warehousing, storage, material handling, and inventory control functions.
  • Ensure proper tracking and traceability of raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), finished goods, and outside-processed      materials.
  • Establish controls for excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.
  • Partner with Finance to maintain accurate inventory valuation and resolve discrepancies.
  • Improve warehouse organization, inventory visibility, and material handling efficiency.

3. Operational Execution and Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Participate in daily operational reviews to communicate procurement status, supplier delivery constraints, and material availability risks.
  • Coordinate with Production Planning to support production schedules, material requirements, and established priorities.
  • Escalate material shortages and supply disruptions that may impact production schedules or customer commitments,    ensuring timely communication and cross-functional alignment.
  • Partner with Engineering and Quality to resolve supplier-related technical and quality issues.
  • Establish standardized purchasing, receiving, inventory transaction, and escalation procedures to ensure consistency and process compliance.

4. Financial Performance and Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and execute supply chain cost reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor purchase price variance, expedite costs, inventory carrying costs, and supplier-related financial risks.
  • Improve inventory turns and reduce excess working capital.
  • Support estimating and quoting activities through supplier pricing, sourcing feasibility, and procurement lead-time      information.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen operational efficiency, reporting, and supply chain      performance.
  • Support ERP modernization and automation initiatives affecting supply chain operations.

5. Compliance and Leadership

  • Ensure procurement and supplier management activities comply with AS9100, applicable FAR/DFARS requirements, ITAR, and contractual obligations.
  • Maintain supplier qualification, purchasing documentation, material traceability, and required quality records.
  • Lead, coach, and develop procurement, inventory control, warehouse, and logistics personnel.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, accountability, and professional development opportunities.
  • Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, integrity, continuous improvement, and customer-focused execution.
