About Opportunity

We are looking for a Graduate Engineer to join our Geotech business, this role requires you to have total flexibility and able to support projects across Australia in remote locations.


You will deliver the full range of a ground and foundation engineer's responsibilities across piling, ground anchoring and ground improvement works, from safety and construction documentation through to procurement, budget tracking, services and utilities investigation, and specialist testing.


Key accountabilities for the position will be:


  • Administer bored pile, CFA, driven, sheet piling and ground improvement works to safety, environmental and quality requirements
  • Administer ground anchoring, soil nails, slope stabilisation and grout curtain works to safety, environmental and quality requirements
  • Develop and implement construction procedures for piling, ground anchors, soil nailing and ground improvement
  • Investigate services and utilities and issue internal permits to work
  • Prepare Work Procedures, ITPs, SWMS and Site Access Plans for specialist ground works
  • Coordinate pile integrity testing, static and dynamic load testing, and anchor proof and lock off testing
  • Oversee ground improvement techniques including dynamic compaction, stone columns, grouting and soil stabilisation
  • Prepare, track and forecast construction budgets, and manage daily cost control
  • Maintain a rolling program with the supervisor and contribute to look-ahead planning
  • Track productivity measures and the traceability of materials, work lots and completed works
  • Record daily progress, deliveries, resourcing, delays, variations and day works accurately
  • Prepare Work Procedures, ITPs, SWMS and Site Access Plans
  • Coordinate specialist piling and ground anchor testing and QA

Salary: $83,200 + superannuation

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Civil Engineering degree or similar, with a geotechnical focus
  • Demonstrated experience in foundation construction activities for transmission line and major infrastructure projects, including piling, stub setting, excavation, reinforcement installation, concreting, and associated ground engineering works.
  • Experience in FRP (Formwork, Reinforcement and Concrete Pour) activities for cast in-situ piling foundations, including planning, coordination, inspection, and supervision of foundation construction work.
  • Demonstrated experience in ground anchors, slope stabilization and ground support construction, including soil nailing, shotcrete walls, retaining walls, retaining structures, and associated geotechnical works.
  • Proven experience in Pile Integrity Testing (PIT) and ground anchor testing including conducting field testing, interpreting results, and preparing technical reports.
  • Experience in soil nail testing, including planning, execution, and reporting of test results.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and obtaining permits for construction activities, including excavation, piling, crane operations and other site-specific approvals required for foundation and civil works.
  • Construction Induction Training (White Card), face to face
  • Current driver licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Ability to achieve a successful Pre-Employment Medical and National Crime Check is required.
