JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled Guidewire Data Engineer to develop, test, and support data migration, integration, and reporting solutions for Guidewire implementations and modernization programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in Guidewire data models, ETL development, SQL, cloud data platforms, and Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance processes.
The role involves collaborating with Data Leads, Solution Architects, Business Analysts, and Guidewire functional teams to deliver data migration and integration workstreams across PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, and Guidewire Cloud environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze legacy insurance systems and source data structures to support data migration and conversion activities.

Develop source-to-target data mappings and ETL processes for Policy, Claims, Billing, Customer, and Producer data.

Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, transformation logic, data quality checks, and reusable migration frameworks.

Develop SQL scripts and stored procedures, optimize database performance, and support large-volume data processing.

Participate in mock conversions, trial runs, production cutovers, and post-migration validation.

Perform data profiling, validation, and reconciliation to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity between source and target systems.

Develop and support integrations between Guidewire applications and external systems through APIs, batch interfaces, and other data exchange mechanisms.

Support implementations involving Guidewire DataHub, InfoCenter, and Guidewire Cloud Data Platform.

Execute and support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and production validation activities.

Investigate and resolve data defects, migration issues, and data quality concerns.

Collaborate with Business Analysts, subject matter experts, and Guidewire configuration and integration teams to clarify requirements and mapping specifications.

Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Provide post-production support during deployment and stabilization phases.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

4–8 years of experience in Data Engineering, ETL Development, Data Migration, or related projects.

Hands-on experience with data mapping, ETL processes, SQL development, data validation, and reconciliation.

Knowledge of relational databases, data transformation techniques, and data quality management.
-
Experience with data integration, batch processing, and large-volume data handling.
-
Understanding of Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance processes and data structures.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-
2+ years of experience working on Guidewire implementation projects.

Experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, DataHub, or InfoCenter.

Exposure to Guidewire Cloud implementations and the Guidewire Cloud Data Platform.

Experience with Python, Java, or MuleSoft.

Familiarity with cloud data platforms and services such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, Snowflake, or Databricks.

Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or SSIS.

Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment processes.
