Quantum Sky is searching for a Lead Systems Monitoring Center Administrator (DSMC) to support a 4th estate customer at Fort Meade.
Responsibilities:
- Provide continuous monitoring and operational awareness of enterprise network infrastructure, services, systems, and end-user experience using SolarWinds, ScienceLogic, Aternity, and other approved monitoring platforms.
- Monitor alerts, events, performance indicators, and service health to identify outages, degradation, abnormal conditions, and potential mission impact.
- Perform initial analysis of monitoring alerts to determine scope and potential impact and initiate appropriate escalation to Tier 3 engineering or other responsible technical teams.
- Create incident tickets for identified outages and ensure incidents are escalated to the appropriate teams within established timeframes.
- Track network outages, service disruptions, VIP-impacting incidents, and other high-visibility events through resolution, maintaining accurate status and timeline information.
- Develop and distribute twice-daily operational status reports, outage notifications, and other required operational reporting.
- Document significant events, outages, escalations, and actions within the Master Station Log (MSL).
- Correlate information across multiple monitoring platforms to provide a comprehensive view of network, service, and end-user experience.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to communicate operational health, availability, incident trends, performance, and other key metrics.
- Generate ad hoc, daily, weekly, and monthly reports using Power BI, ServiceNow, SolarWinds, ScienceLogic, Aternity, and other approved data sources.
- Support onboarding and offboarding of network devices, services, and other assets within monitoring platforms to maintain accurate and complete monitoring coverage.
- Identify gaps in monitoring coverage, including devices or services that are not reporting or being monitored as expected, and coordinate corrective action.
- Interface with DISA customers, technical teams, and leadership to communicate operational status, significant events, emerging trends, and mission impacts.
- Prepare and deliver operational briefings and status updates for both technical and senior leadership audiences.
- Support configuration and integration of monitoring and reporting platforms as necessary to improve visibility, reporting accuracy, and operational awareness.
- Maintain clear, concise, and accurate documentation in a fast-paced operational environment.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of relevant experience; additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Experience supporting enterprise IT operations, network operations, a Network Operations Center (NOC), or a similar monitoring environment.\
- Experience using one or more enterprise monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds, ScienceLogic, Aternity, or comparable tools.
- Experience identifying and analyzing infrastructure, network, service, or end-user performance issues using monitoring data.
- Experience creating and tracking incidents using ServiceNow ITSM or a comparable IT service management platform.
- Experience developing operational reports, metrics, dashboards, and status reports.
- Experience with Power BI or comparable data visualization/reporting tools.
- Strong technical writing skills, including the ability to clearly document outages, impacts, timelines, and technical events.
- Ability to interpret technical information and translate it into concise reporting appropriate for both technical teams and leadership.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, with occasional weekend or after-hours support based on mission requirements.
- Active DoD IAT Level II certification prior to start.
Desired:
- Hands-on experience with multiple enterprise monitoring platforms, particularly SolarWinds, ScienceLogic, and Aternity.
- Experience developing Power BI dashboards, including combining or presenting data from multiple operational data sources.
- Experience developing reports and dashboards within ServiceNow.
- Experience correlating infrastructure monitoring, network performance, incident, and end-user experience data to identify service-impacting conditions.
- Experience supporting DISA, DoDNet, or another large-scale DoD enterprise environment.
- ITIL v3/v4 certification or practical experience working within ITIL-based operational processes.
- Experience preparing and delivering operational briefings to senior government or organizational leadership.
- Knowledge of DoD enterprise IT policies, procedures, and operational reporting requirements

- Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically between 130-135K. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
