Hiring Range
$48.90 - $67.28/Hourly Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
Overview
RN works under the supervision of a qualified physician, the department lead nurse, and/or the Cardiovascular Management team performing a variety of duties related to cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology, and neuro radiology procedures.
Working within their defined skill set is responsible assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients. The RN may work in a variety of settings and roles within Riverside Health System and functioning as a team member demonstrates flexibility in work assignments. Responsible for necessary quality control performance and documentation that supports best practice standards and accreditation initiatives. The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on age, physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. Promotes a safe work environment for staff, as well as, for the customers while incorporating national patient safety initiatives. Participates in quality performance improvement, in-service education, team training, and customer service programs. Requires the knowledge, utilization, and maintenance of complex equipment / inventory in order to maintain quality patient care. As a cardiovascular team member, is responsible for delivering a comprehensive range of services and clinical care tasks associated with and in accordance with the standards of excellence established by Riverside Health System policy and procedures.
What you will do
- Consistently demonstrates ability to complete all paperwork/computer based documentation associated with procedures according to department policies.
- Records, circulates, and scrubs for diagnostic and interventional procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
- Performs a variety of specialized and complex invasive and non-invasive cardiovascular procedures.
- Demonstrates accountability for environment of care and ensures availability of necessary resources to provide positive work flow and efficient daily operations.
- Ability to delegate and prioritize tasks to facilitate quality patient care and ensure all patient care needs are met. Demonstrates the ability to assess patient needs throughout procedure; recognizes and responds to emergency situations.
- Demonstrates organization of work, knowledge of process/procedure for applicable modality(s) and performs independently without close supervision. Performs as Lead Tech for specific modality(s).
- Accurately verifies and performs all aspects of procedures tracking to include correct facility/room, bill only application, account verification.
- Collaborates with physicians to provide for the specialized needs of patients. Recognizes and responds to variances of patient care/ condition and appropriately notifies physician and team. Provides timely follow-up regarding requests and concerns utilizing SBAR process when applicable.
- Participates positively by taking ownership in training and support of all team members and students as needed.
- Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelors Degree, Nursing (Preferred) or
- Associates Degree, Nursing (Preferred) or
- Program Graduate, Nursing (Nursing Diploma is minimum education requirement, Associate's or Bachelor's in Nursing accepted in lieu of Nursing Diploma) (Required) and
- High School Diploma or GED, HS Diploma/GED only required if Nursing Diploma Graduate (Required)
Experience
- 5-6 years Experience in Interventional Procedures (Required)
- 5-6 years Able to scrub, monitor and/or circulate in 3 or more modalities (Required)
- 3-4 years Technical experience performing invasive and non-invasive procedures (Required)
- 5-6 years Nursing Experience (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required) and
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required) and
- ACLS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 1 Year(Required) and
- Radiologic Technologists - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Upon Hire(Preferred) or
- Cardiovascular Credentialing - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Upon Hire(Preferred) or
- Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Upon Hire(Preferred) or
- Registered Cardiac Invasive Specialist (RCIS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Upon Hire(Preferred) or
- Cardiac Medicine Certification (CMC) - American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN Certification Corporation) Upon Hire(Preferred) or
