We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and skilled Hotel Maintenance Technician to join our property operations team at the Pittsburgh Marriott North and Courtyard Pittsburgh North complex. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the physical integrity, safety, and aesthetic standards of our hotel. From routine preventative maintenance to prompt troubleshooting and guest room repairs, your work ensures our guests experience a comfortable, safe, and seamless stay that meets Marriott brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and scheduled servicing of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities to prevent equipment failures and uphold Marriott quality standards.
- General Repairs: Perform hands-on repairs related to plumbing, basic electrical troubleshooting, HVAC units, carpentry, drywall patching, and painting.
- Guest Room & Equipment Upkeep: Respond promptly to work orders submitted by the front desk or housekeeping, addressing issues such as broken locks, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and television or Wi-Fi connectivity.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all facilities comply with local building codes, fire safety regulations, OSHA standards, and brand compliance guidelines. Report any major hazards or structural issues to management immediately.
- Documentation & Inventory: Maintain accurate logs of completed maintenance tasks, track spare parts inventory, and notify management when supplies need reordering.
- Vendor & Contractor Support: Assist outside contractors and specialized technicians when major facility upgrades or complex repairs are required.

Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 1 to 2 years of hands-on maintenance experience, preferably within a hotel, resort, or multi-unit residential property. Hospitality experience, particularly within Marriott or similar branded select/full-service hotels, is strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems. Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues before they impact guests.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly, as well as work on ladders when necessary.
- Communication & Guest Focus: Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with hotel staff and respond respectfully to guest inquiries or requests.
- Flexibility: Availability to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends, holidays, and on-call rotation as required by hotel operations.
