Description
Summary: Provides administrative and court coordination support for County Court at Law No. 2, assisting with the efficient operation of the Court.
Essential Job Functions:
· Prepares and maintains court-related documents, files, correspondence, and records.
· Processes and electronically files documents signed by the Judge and filed with the Court.
· Prepares jury lists and manages jury list strikes as required.
· Prepares and sends court correspondence and documentation to defendants, attorneys, and other involved parties by mail, fax, or electronic means.
· Provides administrative and secretarial support to the Judge and Court.
· Communicates and coordinates with attorneys, defendants, bond personnel, jail staff, warrant division, District Attorney’s Office, County Clerk’s Office, and other agencies regarding court matters.
· Maintains accurate and timely court information and documentation while protecting confidential and sensitive information.
· Monitors court schedules, deadlines, and pending matters to ensure timely completion of required tasks.
· Performs duties independently, exercises sound judgment, and maintains accuracy while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
· Maintains regular and predictable attendance, which is an essential function of this position.

Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED required; two years of full-time office or clerical experience, including one year of full-time experience in a court or legal setting. An Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies or two years of relevant paralegal experience may be considered in combination with required office/clerical experience. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:· Knowledge of court procedures, legal documents, forms, and terminology.
· Proficiency within Microsoft Office and knowledge of Odyssey Case Management system.
· Knowledge of general office procedures and administrative practices.
· Ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments while meeting established deadlines.
· Ability to maintain accurate records and handle confidential and sensitive information.
· Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with the Judge, court staff, attorneys, defendants, law enforcement, other agencies, and the public.
· Ability to work independently within established guidelines and procedures.
· Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
· Ability to adapt to changing court schedules and priorities.
Equipment Used: Personal computer and computer-based court systems; multi-line telephone system; copy machine; scanner; fax machine; and other general office equipment as needed.
Work Situations/Demands/Efforts: Work requires a high degree of organization, prioritization, accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality. Position requires frequent interaction with the Judge, court staff, attorneys, defendants, other agencies, and the public. Employee must be able to manage multiple tasks, meet frequent deadlines, respond to changing court schedules, and work independently within established guidelines.
Working Conditions: Work is performed primarily in a climate-controlled courthouse and office environment. Position requires regular interaction with co-workers, court personnel, attorneys, defendants, and members of the public.
Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary and requires prolonged sitting, frequent use of a computer and telephone, reaching, bending, walking, and occasional lifting and carrying of files, records, supplies, and other objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
