Bonney Lake Recreation is looking for enthusiastic coaches to lead youth recreation athletes in after-school programs!
Coaches will work with young athletes at select Sumner-Bonney Lake School District facilities, helping kids develop athletic skills, teamwork, confidence, and a love of the game.
- Actively coach at games and practices.
- Teach the fundamentals of soccer, basketball, volleyball, and/or track and field.
- Act as a communications liaison between Bonney Lake Recreation Program staff and parents.
- Provide a safe and fun environment for the children.
- Learn and follow all rules, policies, and procedures.
- Put player safety above all else.
- Attend all meetings, trainings, team practices and games as scheduled by the Recreation Program.
- Adhere to the Coach’s Ethics and Code of Conduct
- Create an environment of teamwork and respect.
- Commitment to working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, promoting a sense of belonging, and actively identifying and removing barriers to inclusion.
- Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Previous coaching experience preferred
- Must possess Washington State Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City and the City's insurance carrier.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification;
- Successful passing of a required background check

Physical Demands
- Moving throughout City facilities and buildings.
- Travel to off-site locations and move throughout the community as needed.
- Drive and perform field work.
- Communicate with students and parents.
- Lift or move items weighing up to 20 pounds on occasion.
Work Environment
- 50% of work is performed in an office environment and 50% is performed outdoors as weather allows.
- Work afternoons
