Job Description

As a Security Officer Day Patrol in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a government location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents. In this role, you will support a professional environment through strong customer service, clear communication, teamwork, and integrity while contributing to a caring, reliable, and innovative culture.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and contractors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control practices, and other security-related policies at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report details according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout interior spaces, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and public areas, verify credentials when required, and communicate with site contacts regarding security-related issues and/or visitor needs.
• Support emergency response activities, assist with directing people during disruptions and/or evacuations, and document incidents in a clear and timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Be able to lift more than 20 lbs preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
